Why Are So Many Christians So Un-Christian?

Actually Walt you're quoting Saul. I was referring to what Jesus said, " with god all things are possible". I only quote him. Thanks for the correction though.
Actually Jesus said, "With God all things are possible." and my first quote was from Paul, no longer Saul, try to keep up.

Ask Cliff or one of the in house atheists. They all seem to know.

He could also ask christians since they seem to know who is a true christian and who isn't.

I'd say anyone who calls himself a christian is a christian. Just like I'd say anyone who calls themselves an atheist is an atheist.

Except that I know that upsets people cause some people who call themselves something sometimes do stupid dangerous things under that guise and then they all get called on it.

So...the question should be "who gets to appoint the title of christian on someone?"

It's Christian, just like English of French.

I'd guess you'd have to define what a Christian is before you could characterize what a Christian ain't. But you need to be honest. Have to start with the Edict of Milan when Constantine legitimized the religion and go from there to be able to decide what a Christian is.

I'd be more likely to ask, why are so many humans inhuman?

makes the word humane impossible to define, sadly

Have you ever listened to TV evangelists, to right wing Christian Republicans? Are you aware that many republican cities in the US have made homelessness and the feeding and sheltering of the homeless illegal? That many of them would deny access to medical care for the poor or want to stop or have stopped food programs in schools? Being aware of this and pointing it out is not bias. And why would anybody who has any compassion not be concerned about helping their fellow man? It is what Jesus taught and yet so many do not practice.
Evangelists are in many aspects, another type of politician. Very few are involved in charity activities with the exception of those who for publicity reasons have a token part of their organization directed to that. In my home town of Phoenix there are thousands of Christians and non Christians who "behind the scenes" are involved in charity dining rooms, food banks and rescue missions. What is visible to the public eye is not always indicative of the groups as a whole. We are reactionary sometimes. We see a negative aspect of something and make a knee jerk determination that all of it is that way, which is never the true picture. This is true from both sides of the coin. Theist and Atheist alike. Seem like it's been that way for some time.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."(Matthew 7:21 NIV)

those you may call not christians believe they are doing "the will of "his" father who is in heaven. They believe the same way you believe you are doing the will of his father who is in heaven.

They don't believe differently. Their believe is coming from the very same spot in their brain as you believe is coming from.

"Not Christian" is something only Christ can determine, Twila.
