Yes, dear.

Give me a shout when you're through with your snarky, lame, weak sarcasm. Maybe we'll talk some. When you're not in butthurt mode, I find our conversations quite interesting and informative.

...says the forum queen of just that very odoriferous MO.

The NBPA is racist. End of argument.

Just to be clear, are you for or against the the other organizations mentioned?

The Francophones?

I was going to say "the whites," but that would kick up a ruckus.

I guess in a way, but are there any laws that say they can do certain things or are entitled to certain things based on their first language? Seems to mostly be limited to the ability to use their language in official settings.

While all individuals are equal by virtue of his, her or its humanity, all civilizations are not equal. Does anyone disagree? If so, please use this opportunity to disagree with me.

Well, it's up to you to decide if that fits your criterion, which, if you have forgotten, was:

What other group in Canada has specific legal rights base on their ancestry?

Thanks. I thought you might think so. I'm trying to bring the level of debate down to your level. Next I'm going to claim you are arguing against things you aren't actually arguing against.

You clearly stated that you think having a seat on the board for an aboriginal person was racist.

I clearly explained the practical reason that they should have a seat for an aboriginal person.

You think that despite that practical reason, it is still racist and wrong.

Do you think it fits? It isn't like anyone has different rights based on the language they speak. Everyone in Canada has the right to use either official language in their dealings with the government.

From an American point of view it certainly fits. 12% of the population (the overwhelming majority of whom speak, read, and write English well) are imposing the additional cost of doing up signs, documents, education, and other government functions in French on the 88%.

Yes, given how the board was set up.

I clearly explained the practical reason that they should have a seat for an aboriginal person.

No you haven't but thanks for trying. Sometimes it's the effort that counts.

It isn't like anyone has different rights based on the language they speak.

Are you serious? You tell that to a anglophone in Kweebeck and see how long it takes him to stop laughing.

All I was trying to do was ensure you that no ruckus would be kicked up in the event that you used the word 'white'.

Gosh and golly TB, you seem to take such offense whenever I try and help... I hope that I haven't been racist or anything

That is a bit of a different discussion.

In the case of an aboriginal person in Canada, having Indian status puts you in a different legal class with different rules than anyone who does not have Indian status.

In this case, the laws you are talking about apply to everyone in Canada in the same way.

The answer to my question is that no...all civilizations are not equal because not all civilizations develop the cultural characteristics needed to succeed.

The next question is what is success? Any takers?

Just saying no isn't really an argument. If you can't explain why living under a completely different set of laws regarding land ownership and land use is not a practical difference, maybe it is because you just don't want it to be the case since it hurts your argument.

Are you serious? You tell that to a anglophone in Kweebeck and see how long it takes him to stop laughing.

Explain how this is wrong? Even in Quebec, there are no legal class difference based on the language you speak. Everyone has to follow the same laws.
