This is classic stuff. Full marks to the Republican for playing voters for idiots. All the power to him on that strategy. Need more of these guys in office.

His opponent denounced Wilson's tactics as "disgusting" and vowed to seek a recount.

No. What's disgusting is all those people who only voted for him just because they thought he was black. It's racism.

Never mind Dave Wilson.

More politicians need to be like Godfrey Bloom, the gloriously politically incorrect UKIP MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber.

Mr Bloom is Euroskeptic (as you would expect from a UKIP politician), a climate change skeptic, and is against women's rights.

UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom: "Britain should stop sending money to bongo bongo land"

Earlier this year he caused uproar amongst some circles when, during a speech at the UKIP conference, he called his female audience members "s luts".

No long after, some gormless left wing journalist called Michael Crick confronted Bloom on the street with a copy of the UKIP manifesto and asked him why, out of all the people's faces on the front cover, none of them were black. Bloom was outraged, called Crick a racist for focusing on the people's skin colour, snatched the magazine from Crick's hand and whacked him over the head with it.

As for women, he once said "no self-respecting small businessman with a brain in the right place would ever employ a lady of child-bearing age." Around the same time he said " "I just don't think [women] clean behind the fridge enough" and that "I am here to represent Yorkshire women who always have dinner on the table when you get home."

In a piece for politics.co.uk in August 2013, Bloom attempted to set the record straight about his earlier comments on gender equality. He argued against quotas for women in boardrooms, claimed that feminism was a "passing fashion" created by "shrill, bored, middle-class women of a certain physical genre" and that any men who supported feminism were "the slightly effete politically correct chaps who get sand kicked in their face on the beach." He said that women were better at "[finding] the mustard in the pantry" than driving a car.

He's also a rabid climate change skeptic. He said in 2009: "As far as I am concerned man-made global warming is nothing more than a hypothesis that hasn't got any basis in fact. Every day more scientists are modifying their initial views". Bloom was filmed at the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen congratulating the French for bombing the Rainbow Warrior, a Greenpeace ship, in 1985. In the clip, posing in front of the present Greenpeace flagship, Rainbow Warrior II, Bloom said, "Here we have one of the most truly fascist boats since 1945, well done the French for sinking (it)."

Last night he appeared on the weekly topical celebrity panel quiz show Have I Got News For You. He was on comedian Paul Merton's team. During the show a clip was shown of his run in with a Channel 4 newsreader who was questioning Bloom over Bloom's recent remarks that Britain should stop sending money to "bongo bongo land". Bloom was adamant that "bongo bongo land" isn't racist and eventually stormed off, refusing to answer anymore questions. After the clip was shown, Bloom said that he didn't know why the Asian newsreader who questioned him was called Murphy. The show's host correctly pointed out that he's called Murthy, not Murphy. Then, on the other team, Victoria Coren, who is also the host of the gameshow Only Connect, said "Why couldn't he be called Murphy (even though he's black)?" In reply, Bloom replied sarcastically "Because he speaks with a Welsh accent. What a stupid question!"

GODFREY BLOOM FOR PRIME MINISTER!
