Stockwell Day compares the black experience to being picked on for wearing glasses in school.

He just lost a few jobs.

His ignorance is common.

Regina, 94% white.

The idea of that changing horrifies you.
Its 94% white? In 1930?

In your rage you misread "while" for white. LMFAO

Try the demographics for my neighborhood and then yours. We'll compare.
I think Pete wins with his neighbourhood, North central where white is a major minority.

Yes, my mistake, sorry about that. Try the demographics for my neighborhood and then yours. We'll compare.

I live in the GTA, good luck.

I stand by my statement. The idea of increased non whites horrifies you.
In the GTA, about 1/2 are white & non-white. In North Central about 1/2 are white & non-white.

Ron in Regina demonstrates that he has NO CLUE WHAT IT IS LIKE

to be a cop in a RIOT ZONE!
You are correct. I've no Idea what it's like to be a cop in a Riot Zone created by the actions of cops. I'll defer to your greater experience in this area. Tell me what it's like to be a cop in a Riot Zone created by the actions of cops. Please.

I was always a big kid. I've seen some weird shit. When I was younger I worked for the Exhibition Association here in Regina back in the mid-80's. I've worked the Parking & Security for between 60-70 Concerts when I was still in my late Teens (and hundreds of other events from hockey games to whatever...). Everything from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (before most had ever heard of them in an alcohol fueled cabaret) to Alice Cooper to Corey Hart to the Beach Boys (The Beach Boys crowd was by FAR the most intoxicated crowd, & had the nicest tour buses ever!). The Venue should have held a Max (fire code) of 10,400 (6400 seated & 4000 on the floor) but in the craziness of the times (like the Corey Hart Fiasco) I've seen it with over 15,000 packed into that building where people would pass out from the heat (end of July) and not be able to fall down due to the press of the crowd (the press of the crowd pushed a fire door off its hinges, and the bodies piled up in the turnstile counters until the crowd flowed over them like ants until we could unchain them & drag them out'a the way...& this was before the show started). The unconscious would float up out of the crowd and ride it to the outsides on the hands of hundreds of others to the outsides where medics would revive them. It was pretty crazy.

One night in the mid-80's, when Music Videos (MTV, etc...) was still quit new, a local radio station was going to host a Music Video Night at this venue. They assumed that 1 in 3 tickets given away would be 'No-Shows' and a full house would have been about 6000 people....so they gave away 18,000 tickets....and there was about 100% turn out plus thousands more. This was the hayday of Heavy Metal and we where confiscating booze & drugs and knifes and clubs and cameras and so on and so forth from the first 6000 or so that had tickets upon entry until Max occupation for fire code...and then we had to close the doors....leaving 12000-15000 more outside with the majority of those holding valid tickets for the venue. This was....surreal....and turned violent. The police couldn't get in (and wouldn't with those numbers as they'd be too outnumbered, so that sat in their cars back a block or two and waited), and we had to try to control the crowd inside and those that wanted inside without the Police.

People inside would want to leave one or two at a time, and thousands more wanted in if a door cracked open to let a few out. It was insane.. Every fire door was manned by two people (Security, or Parking Lot Attendants, or DJ's from the radio station, or Exec's from the Exhibition Association or Harvard Broadcasting, or any other able bodied substantially sized human that could get through the crowd {Police in uniforms couldn't & wouldn't}) to push out a body or two and keep hundreds from prying the doors out of our hands creating a flood of bodies pouring in through that leak. There's a leverage trick to a fire door so that when it's cracked open and a body is pushed out, and ten hands grab the edges to pull it open while others are trying to stab lite cigarettes into you through opening, the door can be leveraged closed again if you're strong enough.

One of my friends (ex-military, big farm boy, tough as nails) got pulled out of a door and made it back into the building about 60' from where he was pulled out, totally beat to shit with black eyes for weeks, but we got him back inside. That night was...educational. Several hours later when about 15,000 people outside and several thousand from inside had left, then the Police would start driving slowly through the crowds of a couple hundred people (staying inside their cars with the lights & sirens going) to encourage the crowd to further disperse. It was about that point I slipped out of the building with a coat disguising my appearance to head for home as I still had to get up for school in a few hours. I was in Grade 11 at that point.

Spilledthebeer, again I deffer to your greater wisdom and first hand experience I'm assuming from your comment with respect to crowd control in a volatile situation, Tell me what it's like to be a cop in a Riot Zone. Please.

I need some help in deciding on how to show my support for victims like Floyd. I'm stuck deciding whether to drive my truck through Princess Auto or the Yamaha/Husqvarna dealer out on the highway.

Suggestions?
