Forgotten? No, it's important to not forget how ignorant and intolerant people were concerning race, and how it was more acceptable.
So calling people racist is also acceptable , despite the fact he is married to a visible minority , has close personal friends from many cultures and is welcoming to all . The R word is spread around these forums like butter on bread and often without an iota of context .
P.S. the colour green is not racist .

How many prophets of doom have you survived so far ? It started in grade one learning to hide under the desk in case of nuclear war . The air raid sirens were tested on a semi regular basis . We were all going to die , nuclear winter . Acid rain was going to poison the world rendering agriculture untenable . We were all supposed to die . The ozone lair was disappearing we were all going to get skin cancer and die . AIDS was going to get everyone else and hep c was going to kill the junkies . Remember y2k yup we were All going to die . Ebola gonna get ya . Bird flu , killer bees , and swine flu . We are all going to die .
The learned scientist may be correct but in my experience says otherwise .
P.S. How about that ice free artic ?

Doctors are morons.

Did I reference prophets of doom in my post? I'll read it over.... nope didn't mention that in my post, but I'll be happy to entertain the remainder of your response. Good to see you tonight by the way, thanks for the company.

Considering that the current death toll in the US alone sits at over 85,000... and counting in just a matter of months, Covid-19 has killed more people the world over than many of the doomsday prophecies you mention, so it's more of a threat, right?

And you say that the learned scientist who was/is involved with research concerning Covid-19 may be right but your experience tells you otherwise. You have experience with Covid-19? Do tell, what is your experience with Covid-19 that contradicts that of Dr. Bright?

I don't know how the ice-free arctic is, I haven't checked on that lately. How is it?

Oh and by the way, a liar is a place where a wild animal lives or sleeps. Layer is the word you were looking for when referring to the ozone.
Thanks for the English lesson . I am glad your grammar and spelling is perfect , sadly school ended long ago and I will not be returning in this lifetime.
As to the other , many people like the learned doctor were predicting the same result , doom and gloom . He may well be right . But he may be wrong . You notice there are lots of coulds and ifs in his statements , because he is only speculating and does not know for sure . Nobody does it is all new .

The models projecting the speed of spread and the death totals have all proved to be over exaggerated, why will his hypothesis prove different ?
Of course Trump doesn’t like the man so that gives him instant credibility in the eyes of many .

I was just responding to your assertion that doctors are morons. BTW I totally disagree with that assessment. People who make that assessment obviously know nothing about medicine.

What assessment?

Oh don't mention it, glad to lend a hand. And thank you for the compliment concerning my grammar and spelling being perfect, but I have my moments as well I'm sure. I do like to think I have a pretty good grasp of the basics though, like knowing the difference between lair and layer, but it's a mistake than can be easily made... by some. Oh school may have ended for most if not all of us here, but that doesn't mean that one can't still be "schooled" so to speak.

Was the learned doctor predicting doom and gloom? Okay, some may see it that way but I look at it more in the way of basing his opinions on trends at the time, and attempting to prepare, in the best way possible, a response. Seems reasonable to me. And there may be a could be or if here and there (I'm not familiar with the word coulds, is it even a word?) but that can be said for any doctor who makes a prediction concerning this virus. No one can know with precision what the numbers will ultimately be in the weeks to come or even from day to day for that matter.

Trump not liking him gives him instant credibility in the eyes of many? Well, I can't speak for many but personally I do find him to be more credible than a man who suggested injecting disinfectants into the human body to combat this virus, so there's that. So yeah, I do find him more credible than Trump but that has little to do with whether Trump likes him or not and more to do with the fact that Dr. Bright seems to be an intelligent, level headed person.

Trump Fires State Department Inspector General, Who Was Investigating Sec'y of State Mike Pompeo.

They can do anything now, anything they want and they are.

If the State Department IG opens an investigation into the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of State promptly gets the IG fired--isn't that...illegal?
