I'm aware of carry forwards which extend a year or four but still doesn't explain going bankrupt to avoid paying taxes.
You can't tax what someone doesnt have.
Going bankrupt to avoid paying taxes (and pensions, and employees, and contracts, and health-and-safety fines, and environmental cleanup costs) is an American tradition.
No income is why people go bankrupt? That's a new one.

For someone who has lost billions of other people's money he seems to be doing pretty well. He must be making money. Otherwise how does he maintain that jet plane? How does he get all those employees, especially lawyers, pilots and aircrews to work for him if he doesn't pay them?
How does he keep a beautiful, dignified lady as a wife for 13 years and how did he raise a successful, decent, respectable family? Do you suppose he could do that on pathological lies? As a bully, a sexual predator?

If people don't want him as President all they have to do is not vote for him. To spread rumor and hearsay as truth is immoral and reprehensible.
It's smart business practise in any country.

Some people still believe OJ is innocent. Some people believe Elvis is still alive. Some people believe the Joos brought down the twin towers. Some folks believe Obama is a Kenyan born Muslim. Some folks believe Trump isn't a misogynist and a racist. I guess you just can't fix stupid. All can do is try to manage it. I think voting should be like driving. Once you get to a certain age, you should have to show that you are reasonably competent.
OJ was found not guilty so he is obviously innocent. Don't you trust our justice system?
