I don't see what all this fighting is about... if the Quebecois vote 50%+1, the government would have the mandate for a sovereign nation. There is nothing Canada could do to stop that, or else the international community would step in. If they got above 50% and Canada stopped the seperation, there would almost surely be fatalities through fighting. This goes for any province too, 50%+1 can get you out of this country. Each province is already sovereign with a Prime Minister (premier), and representative of the Queen (lieutenant-governor).

I still don't get all this talk about stopping a separation. Who ever suggested anything of the kind?

Canada is civil and never can or will have a violent fight over something like this. Most Canadians are in favour of creating an independant Quebec French Speaking Country and an English Speaking Canada. They simply refuse to ask the right people to vote, because this is against the Government's interests. It is not against the People and Taxpayers interests.

This is another problem identified. People don't know that we are in a conflic of interests all the time. The coflict is between those that are the government (the non-elected) and the Taxpayers and Citizens that are not part of the government. The taxpayers are beated and abused here not much less than the Kurds or Albanians or anyone else out there.

Here we are abused financially and worked like slaves and brainwashed to do so without complaining. In other places they use violence and torture.

It's a toss of a coin on who is worse off in the long run.
