Like with every so-called democracy, politicians tell outright lies to get elected and once they're in office it'll be, "well, there's been a change of plan ".

Don't fall for it yet again.

Did the U.K. have an election? WOW, where have I been. Obviously wasn't paying attention. I thought this dude was "appointed" somewhat like Carney. Huh, who knew?

Well you're right he did just have it fall in his lap without an election. But in this case it's just to allay people's fears, only to later have the rug pulled out from under them.
In other words, he's saying it now in the hopes of winning a future election.

Andy Burnham becomes Britain's 59th Prime Minister

1784675243757.jpeg

On Monday the former Mayor of Greater Manchester met the King at Buckingham Palace who made him Britain's 59th Prime Minister.

The 56 year old then made a speech outside No10 Downing Street before entering the world famous residence of the British Prime Minister with his wife, the Belgian Marie-France van Heel, known as "Frankie".

Frankie, Britain's new "First Lady", 56, is a successful business executive who works as the chief marketing officer (CMO) of Iduna Infrastructure, a company that owns large parts of Manchester’s electric vehicle charging network.

Burnham is Britain's seventh Prime Minister in ten years.

Burnham's big policy is to take some powers away from Westminster and distribute them around England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Britain's Chief Mouser welcomes Burnham as Prime Minister

1784679493383.jpeg

Larry the cat, the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office, welcomes yet another Prime Minister to 10 Downing Street.

Burnham is Britain's sixth Prime Minister since 2016 (not the seventh as Burnham said in his speech outside Downing Street) and Larry has been Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office since 2011.

In one of those quaint British traditions, the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office is the official title of the resident No10 cat since the title was first bestowed in 1924.

Trump and Burnham talk over the phone

1784685754316.jpeg

US President Donald Trump has telephoned new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

“I had a very good conversation with the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham,” Mr Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“We discussed many subjects, including the outstanding relationship we have had with the UK. We will be meeting in the not-too-distant future for topics of mutual interest."

The two leaders discussed North Sea oil, trade and the military alliance between the two allies, among other topics.

Trump wants Britain to reap the wealth by extracting more North Sea oil.

If the chief mouser is any good, that dog will toe the line in minutes.
