Episodes and Fringe. I never did see all of the latter due to the way the program was originally aired. It would be there for a few months and then disappear, often coming back at a different time. Episodes is a British sitcom that mocks the stupidity a shallowness of the US TV industry. Interestingly, almost every actor in it is a Brit although they do amazingly well at copying American accents. The only major character in the production is Matt Leblanc who actually plays himself as a sort of overblown has-been doofus who plays havoc with the lives and show they were hired to produce. I usually hate sitcoms, but this one is a bit different from the norm.

The Moaning of Life 2



Bald, Manc twonk Karl Pilkington returns for a second series of his hit comedy travel series. Unlike his three series of An Idiot Abroad, which had a similar premise, The Moaning of Life sees Pilkington actually CHOOSING to visit other countries in order to see how they face up to some of life's biggest issues with their cultures and customs. He also reassesses his life now that he has reached the age of 40, which he considers to be "middle age".


How To Live Your Life



Karl travels to the USA where he releases animals back into the wild with a Buddhist monk. He also meets a "superhero" in San Diego, a man in Utah with several wives and an old lady who loves skydiving. Will Karl also jump from a plane?

Waste



 In this episode, Karl visits Mexico, USA and Germany to see various ways people deal with waste. Along the way he gets a smelly dunk at a raw sewage plant, meets a man who eats roadkill and meets a group of men who play music using bins and discarded items.

Time



Karl again visits the USA and Germany. He gets his future told by rumpology; meets a man who gets a thrill by having his body in plaster casts; gets made to look and feel like an old man; and finds out what it would be like to live on Mars.

I think that's because American (and Canadian) accents are easier to grasp than British accents. Lots of Brits can easily do American and Canadian accents but ask an American or Canadian to do one of Britain's many accents, like Geordie or Scouse or Manc, and they'd probably struggle. In fact, most foreigners learning English can better grasp the American and Canadian accents than the British accents. Also, the British speak much more quickly than Americans and Canadians and often miss out certain letters or words (the people in Northern England often miss out "the") in their speech.

In fact, the same applies to French. Canadian French speakers speak that language much more slowly than the French do.

Immortal Egypt with Joann Fletcher

Episode 2: Chaos



In the second episode, Joann explores how the Pyramid Age ended in catastrophe. In one of Saqqara's last pyramid complexes, Joann uncovers evidence of famine as the young Egyptian state suffered a worsening climate and political upheaval. With depleted coffers, Egypt was plunged into the dark ages and civil war. With the land fractured into many small states, Joann tells the story of small-town leaders rising through the ranks.

In a little known tomb in Thebes, Joann uncovers stories of warriors who fought in the bloody battle which eventually would mark the reunification of Egypt. This burial represents the world's first recorded war cemetery and the rise of Thebes. The country was reborn, resuming grand building projects for Egypt's mighty kings and bejewelled queens.

Joann reveals how settlers known as the Hyksos tried to infiltrate the government and take the throne. But their rule was short-lived as they were ousted by southern rulers who laid the groundwork for Egypt's largest empire.

Grumpy Old Men 2. ~ Walter Matthau, Jack Lemon and my favorite,,,Burgess Meredith. All of which have gone on to the next chapter what ever that may be. Seems like all my favorites are checking out a lot lately. I guess that's part of getting old.

Not only that,,, I never really noticed how pretty Sophia Loren actually is. And I'm not talking about her breasts.

Mr. Bean wants Teddy to do water tricks, but his teddy becomes very stinky. After he takes it to the laundrette to be cleaned, he gets the goldfish to perform tricks instead.

He's hilarious. Even in cartoon form. One of the greatest comedy characters of all time, along with Rowan's other comedy creation, Blackadder. British comedy is the best in the world. American comedy is about as funny as shingles, just less infectious.
