Series 23

Episode 1

The world's most-watched factual TV show returns with a new set of presenters. This first episode of the new series got mixed reviews by fans. What do you think of it?

In the first show of the new series, Chris Evans takes the Dodge Viper ACR to the home of Top Gun in Nevada, in a laser gun battle with Sabine Schmitz in a Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Matt LeBlanc tackles wildest Morocco in Somerset's finest off-roader, the Ariel Nomad.

Back on British soil, Evans and LeBlanc take a rather soggy road trip to Blackpool in a pair of roofless Reliant three-wheelers, whereupon they are tasked with defending the honour of their nations in a series of gruelling UK-versus-USA challenges. Who will emerge victorious?

Back in the studio, this week's celebrity guests are Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg and Gordon Ramsey.

The picture quality isn't that great, but it's the best I could find.

The Hairy Bikers' Pubs That Built Britain

Episode 1: Yorkshire

The likeable, jolly Northern bikers and foodies are back!

But rather than travelling the world and cooking up some exotic local dishes in exotic locations, this time the two best pals are travelling the length and breadth of Britain to check out some of the nation's pubs, unearthing hundreds of years of fascinating history hidden within them!

In this first episode, Si and Dave uncover 370 years of pub history in a Yorkshire pub believed to have been drunk dry by troops the night before the bloodiest battle of the English Civil War - the Battle of Marston Moor. Dave takes a lesson in battlefield fighting, while Si hears tales of Ripley Castle's famous lady - 'Trooper' Jane.

And in York, the Hairy Bikers learn the gruesome history of a pub which once doubled up as a hospital.

Heading inland to Bodmin Moor, the Hairy Bikers visit the famous Jamaica Inn, where they discover how to make the tipple of the time - rum shrub.

Manchester

Si and Dave take a Manchester pub crawl to uncover historic boozers once at the heart of the city's industrial revolution.

Starting in Middleton, they discover politics, protest and plotting were rife in one of the pub's back rooms during the early 1800s.

They visit a local brewery to discover when and why beer became popular in Britain and they join a knitting group to find out why their Salford local is so important to the community.

The Great Fire of London

Si and Dave's historic pub tour takes them to London, where they discover inns that witnessed the Great Fire and pubs that watered the workers during the massive 50-year rebuild of the city. The Hairy Bikers start at a pub on the banks of the Thames where Samuel Pepys watched the fire sweep through the city. They also meet modern-day mud larkers who've uncovered fascinating finds in the muddy banks of the Thames - many of them linked to pub life in 1666.

I watched this a few nights ago on Horror Channel:

Stalled (2013)

British comedy horror.

It's Christmas Eve, and a soon-to-be-sh*t-canned maintenance gopher (Dan Palmer) is changing light bulbs and cleaning toilets instead of drinking egg nog and making out with drunk receptionists at the annual office party. Unfortunately for this forlorn floor-sweeper, he chooses to use the ladies' restroom the very second a zombie outbreak occurs! Will he bowl us over and flush away the undead or (like in his pre-apocalypse life) simply remain ...Stalled?

Derek

A bittersweet comedy drama mockumentary about a group of outsiders living on society's margins, starring, written and directed by Ricky Gervais and also starring his friend Karl Pilkington, Kerry Godliman and David Earl.

Gervais plays 50-year-old Derek Noakes, a man with learning difficulties who is a care worker at Broad Hill, a home for the elderly, who has worked there for three years. He likes watching reality television shows and game shows and is interested in celebrities, YouTube and, above all, talking about animals.

Kerry Godliman plays his colleague and friend, Hannah. The care home's manager, she has worked there for fifteen years. Karl Pilkington plays Dougie, the home's caretaker, in Series 1 (he was filming one of his comedy travel series during the filming of Series 2). Derek and Dougie live in Dougie's council flat. David Earl plays Kev, a friend of Derek who does not work in the home but spends nearly all of his time there. Kev's passion in life is collecting autographs from celebrities.
