The BBC may be a filthy left-wing cesspit that needs a good clear out from top to bottom, but its wildlife shows are world-beating.

Shark

Episode 1

Wildlife series on the sharks of the world.

The first programme shows how sharks are the ocean's great predators, living in every ocean and hunting in every way. Blacktip sharks hunt in huge packs and herd fish into baitballs; tasselled wobbegongs are ambush hunters; blind Greenland sharks live under the arctic ice and can live for 200 years; and whitetip reef sharks are the masters of hunting at night. The finale shows the great white in its hunt for fur seals off the coast of South Africa.

Last night, Chris Evans hosted a spectacular concert staged at the iconic Horse Guards Parade in London, situated just yards from Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, forming the centrepiece of the national celebrations for the 70th anniversary of VE Day. From the declaration of war through to the celebrations on VE Day, the show captures and reflects the spirit and mood of the nation at that time.

Songs from the period are performed by artists including Pointless co-host Alexander Armstrong, Alfie Boe, Blue, Chas & Dave, Collabro, Elaine Paige, Gregory Porter, Katherine Jenkins, Laura Wright, Pixie Lott, Rebecca Ferguson and Status Quo, many of whom will be accompanied by the live big band. Diversity and the Strictly Come Dancing Professionals also take to the stage to perform two show-stopping dance tributes to the era.

This special event includes live readings by well-known actors and actresses including Adrian Lester, Bernard Cribbins, Colin Salmon, Honeysuckle Weeks, Ian Lavender, Jane Horrocks, Julia Sawalha, Laurence Fox, Martin Shaw, Richard E Grant and Robert Lindsay as well as short films featuring archive from the time, contributions from individuals who experienced life during the war and other specially shot material.

The concert, which is taking place in association with the Royal British Legion, is attended by thousands of members of the public as well as a contingent of World War Two veterans and two Spitfires.

Wellington: The Iron Duke Unmasked

Episode 1 (of 2)

The Duke of Wellington was the most famous Briton of the first half of the 19th century. His victory over Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815 altered the course of history and cemented Britain's position as the global superpower for over the next 100 years. The hero of Waterloo became a towering figure in British history for both his achievements and for embodying our notions of Britishness - the stiff upper lip, unfussy straightforwardness and incorruptibility in office. He was the Iron Duke.

This drama documentary looks behind the iron mask to focus on the intriguing complexities of the Duke of Wellington - his character, personality and relationships, told through his own words and the words of those who knew him best. General, politician, lover, outsider - the series discovers that the hero of Waterloo was far more complex than his public image.

Drawing on his own vast private correspondence, as well as the diaries and memoirs of those around him, this biographical series uses dramatic reconstruction to create an intimate portrait of the Duke of Wellington, played by Richard E Grant (Withnail and I, The Iron Lady, Doctor Who).

as part of the promos for the next pay-per-view one grappler called another "turkey neck" - that's an old term from the 1960s and I hadn't heard it used in the ring for all these decades!

BBC News - this after local news.

Earlier today, I attended a junior high softball game between our neighborhood school and a visiting team that was transported into our area via a luxury bus. Made me wonder how much tuition they must charge at that pricey school. Our girls, many of whom come from poor or one parent homes, won the game 23-13.

Serling was a great writer as was Richard Matheson who wrote several episodes. I have long admired both New Yorkers for their great imaginations, creativity, and insight into the human mind.

Matheson inspired the beautiful movie Somewhere In Time. A great movie which I strongly recommend to those who have never seen it before.

I think I recall that one vaguely.
