A very nice Costa Rican coffee, dark roasted and ground just before I brewed it. Oh Yeah!

yum. we've finally taken the plunge and gone the route of grinding. Got a hopper style grinder though, so I can do a couple days worth at a time, or just one, depending what I want, and it's a uniform grind everytime. I love it.

Caution, you can become disappointed after a while once you have to stop for a coffee out on the road. heh heh

The smell of fresh roast alone calms me. Each morning my wife wakes up a little earlier than I and grinds a cup fresh for me and sets it up in the espresso
maker. I just stumble in and start it then check the network at home for problems while it's brewing. Once done, I'm ready for the news and a look at this place and the other boards.

I pay about $16 for a pound of F/T coffee that they roast for me to my liking on the spot. Very nice morning brew.

you know... I have all the equipment, but I rarely take the time these days to make myself espresso. When I'm out I tend to order up a Chai tea latte with a shot of espresso. I don't have to worry about not liking the coffee that way... it tastes totally different.

When I need a decent coffee I usually run over to the Starbucks down the road, their dark roasts are pretty good. I am drinking office coffee right now... yuck. :(

lol. nothing beats 3 in the morning oil patch shop coffee though. Once you get used to drinking that, you can drink any coffee, anytime, and it's GOOD.

Some places just make it so much better than others. I actually make a latte each morning rather than an Espresso. There is a little hole in the wall sort of club here that has some damn fine espresso. A little sugar and it's rockin.

3AM shop coffee is much thicker.

Most gas stations now use those closed canister systems so that it doesn't end up concentrated by the end of the day... they've ruined the system. The later in the day you get to it, the thicker the coffee should be.

That's what I get usually if I have to drive for any length of time. It's often about the closest of the store bought cup of coffee that I'll drink. Still much prefer my own though.

I've been down at the hospital a lot lately, and found a little coffee shop nearby that makes a good chai latte, and doesn't argue too much about adding espresso to it. lol. It's a nice warm up on a day like today.

Do you make yours stronger or weaker in comparison to a Starbucks dark?

We go with considerably stronger thant Starbucks, but it's different in that it's not bitter or to acidic. So you get a huge hit of aroma first and then a nice earthy flavour. I do add cream and some sugar to it though which mellows the coffee some.

I drink my coffee black, and Starbucks coffee just sucks black. Like Unf said, way too bitter and acidic.
