Seems that Logan Couture believes that Sid is a cheat. There have been a few articles about this but the one I liked best was this one.

BOSTON (CBS) — Bruins fans certainly know a thing or two about dominating on faceoffs. Patrice Bergeron has been the gold standard at that particular skill for much of his career, and he rules the dot by being unpredictable and mixing up his techniques – and excelling at all of them.

One way Bergeron consistently wins the puck on the faceoff is his anticipation; he often times his stick-swipe perfectly as the referee’s arm drops the puck to the ice. That’s one of the big ways that Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby has dominated faceoffs through the first two games of the Stanley Cup Finals, including winning a staggering 71 percent of faceoffs in Game 2.

That didn’t stop San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture from saying what Patriots fans have gotten used to hearing from vanquished foes over the years: he referred to Crosby’s highly effective faceoff methods as a form of cheating.

"Simply timing a faceoff is not illegal. Couture may be referring to faceoff rules regarding the player’s stick; each center needs to have at least the toe of their stick blade on the ice as the puck is dropped, so Couture may see Crosby’s anticipatory stick movement as a form of cheating.

When asked about the reason for Crosby’s success at the dot, Couture told the San Jose Mercury News, “He cheats. … He gets away with that. He’s Sidney Crosby.

“He times them, and yet they don’t kick him out for some reason; probably because of who he is.”

Either that or he’s just whining. There’s no doubt that Couture’s ego had fresh wounds after the Pens’ winning goal in Game 2, in which Crosby timed the faceoff perfectly with a pass to Kris Letang, who slipped the puck to Conor Sheary for the game-winner just minutes into overtime. You can see how Crosby’s stick is already making its move before the puck even touches the ice, while Couture looks like he barely even wants the puck.

This is a thing that just about every center worth his salt at the faceoff dot does, and Bergeron is the best in the league at it. As much as I want to rip Crosby for supposedly cheating, he’s been a dominating presence in all phases of the game, not just faceoffs, so far in the Cup Finals. He has almost completely put his actual bush-league tactics aside. And obviously, it strikes a chord around here when a superstar player is accused of “cheating.”

Couture has a career faceoff percentage of 50.2 percent, and that number drops to 46.9 percent in his playoff career when the competition is at its best. Perhaps he could learn a thing or two from Crosby or Bergeron’s faceoff tactics and get better at it himself, rather than complain about the opponent being too good.

Sidney Crosby Accused Of Cheating On Faceoffs By Being Good At It « CBS Boston

So there, Logan Couture. Get your skates on kid and get ready to show your stuff come Saturday night.

Edit to add:

"San Jose centre Logan Couture says Sidney Crosby isn't the only player cheating in faceoffs in the Stanley Cup Final.

Couture said that he, teammate Joe Thornton and just about every other player who gets in the faceoff circle tries for any sort of edge they can get, legal or otherwise.

"Everyone cheats on faceoffs," Couture said Friday. "I cheat, Jumbo cheats. That's how you try to win draws. He's one of the best at it. He wins a lot of faceoffs."

Couture caused a bit of a storm after Game 2 when he accused Crosby of cheating on faceoffs. It was a faceoff win by Crosby in overtime that set up Pittsburgh's game-winning goal by Conor Sheary that gave the Penguins a 2-0 series lead."

Logan Couture says he cheats at faceoffs, too - NHL on CBC Sports - Hockey news, opinion, scores, stats, standings

Okay, you're forgiven.

Well good on the Sharks. They deserved the win and I am happy they got it at home in front of their fans. They've just made the series that much more interesting. Good lesson for the Pens who made some uncharacteristic and costly blunders tonight in addition to not being able to find the net.

This might just play out like the 2011 playoff finals, yep the Cup will land on the West Coast! :) :)

I really didn't expect a sweep against a team like the Sharks, Spam - they got to the final for a reason and Shark fan's got to see that last night. As one commentator said last night, the Sharks gutted it out and got the win. I don't bet on sports or make predictions but I do expect to see a much more revitalized game from the Penguins on Monday night. In the meantime, enjoy the glow from the win cause it may not last that long. ;-)

I just don't see the Penguins giving up two in a row, JLM. The Sharks are good but I do believe the Pens have the edge. We'll see, but don't count your pucks before they are in the net.

It's the West Coast's turn!

that would be fabulous, to have the cup right in our own west coast division, but the sharks
have to win tomorrow, they must tie the series, then go back to pitts, then it will be the
best of 3.

what I did notice last night, is that jones outplayed murray by a big margin, so hopefully that
continues, it is important, and the goalkeeping will probably decide the series.

that cup will get all dingy in Pittsburgh, but here on the coast it will stay bright and shiny.
that will make the guy with the white gloves so happy. lol

The Penguins are a period away from going home up 3 - 1 in the series. They are back on their skates again for this game so far. Murray made some key saves especially as he's spent many idle minutes in both periods. The goal posts are doing well tonight. That second goal was like a dagger in the heart of the Sharks.

This 3rd period is going to be a nail-biter as I do expect the Sharks will throw everything they have on the ice now. They have no choice.

Hang in there Arctic Birdies.

Oh to heck with hang in there.............go out and get them. Go and skate you hearts out.

Well the birds must be cold because their playing sure is - the Sharks are all over them in the first part of this period and now they a goal too.

I think Fehr just saved our butts. Wow! 2:02 left.

3-1 now game almost over.

I wish you would tell my heart that, I would like it back where it belongs and not in mouth.

Well they pulled if off ..........I am so relieved. Now they get to rest and go back home. Matt Murray allowed 1 goal. What a kid. Malkin finally gets one in the net. Pens up 3 - 1!!!!!

And to think they were close to last place back in December.

Interesting score. The goals and games are identical. First 2 goals (as games in the series) got by PIT. Then 1 by SJ (as game). Then 1 final one by PIT (as this game).

Also, NBC announcer mentioned that Pittsburgh has a chance to do something that no Pittsburgh team has done since 1960 .... win a championship on home ice/field. 11 championships of Penguins, Steelers and Pirates ... not one clinched at home (football is obvious as they wouldn't have a superbowl in Pittsburgh).

Yeah, I heard that about winning at home...........how sweet it would be for Pittsburgh fans. If any team is going to do it, it should be this one. They have their glitches as Sidney mentioned tonight, but for the most part they play almost telepathically at times. And everyone is contributing. Every line, every player is doing something when they are on the ice.

well, that will be it for the sharks now, ijust hope one thing, that Pittsburgh win it at home so that

the shark fans don't have to sit there in their own building and watch Pittsburgh go through all the

hoopla, no fun in that.

sharks have had trouble with Pittsburgh's speed from the getgo, so just the way it is, someone's got

to win the cup, its going to go east, hasn't done that for a long time, it won't know where to go, lol,

guess the last time was when boston beat the canucks in 2011, then Chicago and l.a. have shared it for

a few years.

I have nothing much to say for Pittsburgh, they have never been a team I like much, so, that's about it,

they'll have to win it without my approval. lol

I just saw the 3rd period of this game, listened to part of the 2nd in the truck.

now I'm waiting for the draft on the 24th, and then all of the preparation and trades for teams

throughout the summer, then the tournament in September, i'll turn my interests in a different direction

now.
wow the jays got thrashed tonight, but they will bounce back tomorrow, that pitcher for Detroit was

awesome.
