GAME 4

vs

GO........................................PENGUINS...............................................GO!

2 zip for TB end of the 1rst. Pens slightly off sync tonight - need to settle down - hope they have a better 2nd P.

Well this is quite the turn around. TB came to play and they are playing well tonight unlike my guys who are having a hard time staying out of the penalty box and when they do, they can't get anything in the net.

End of 2nd: TB 4 zip

Watching Sportscenter. The Pens almost got it figured out and TB almost lost it but managed to take Game 4.

Phil Kessel unassisted from the top of the circle whizzed one right by Vas - Beauty.

Trevor Daley did not return to the game after being boarded.

GAME 5

vs

Fleury in the net tonight and Olli Maatta will replace Trevor Daley who suffered a broken ankle and is not expected back this year.

Okay, now I'll celebrate a little........Hornquist's goal was an honest one.........the first one really wasn't. ............mind you I will take the two on the board. ;-)

TB takes it in OT...........darn it........now they are one win away from a trip to the Cup. This has to be a seven game series ......has to be.

Ex Habs enforcer Georges Laraque helps stop kidnapping

Former Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque was among those who helped foil an abduction attempt in Jeanne-Mance Park on Saturday afternoon.
Laraque was playing in a charity baseball game when a man allegedly tried to snatch a seven-year-old girl from the park. The former NHLer was among dozens who surrounded the 24-year-old suspect and detained him before police could arrive at the scene.
“It was surreal,” Laraque told CBC Montreal. “The park was full of people everywhere. Everybody saw it. There were so many witnesses when it happened.”
Police say the suspect did not carry the girl too far before being surrounded.
Laraque and other players ran toward the suspect after hearing screams. Family members and other witnesses also intervened.
“I just wanted to make sure that if he got up that I was going to tackle him right away,” said Laraque, a veteran of 13 seasons and 100 fights in the NHL.
The 24-year-old is in police custody and might undergo a psychiatric evaluation this week, Montreal police Constable André Leclerc said. Police said he met with investigators Saturday who will file a report with Quebec’s Crown prosecutor.
The suspect is not known to police, Leclerc said. He could face charges as early as Monday.

if tampa bay had any idea of finishing this off tonight, they should have started playing

to win before the game was almost over, don't feel much sorry for them, they didn't seem

to have the intensity needed for a game as important as this one, they can't 'just' show

up and expect to win.

I also expected more of TB, talloola especially as they had the chance to take the series at home. I understand the disallowed goal was a blow to the team but as the coach said in his post-game interview, it happened early enough in the game that the team could have, should have overcome the setback. The same might be said for the Pens when Phil accidentally put the puck in his own net - but the Pens overcame that and kept on playing solid hockey.

I'm really pleased with the Pens effort last night and pray that they can bring that same intensity and effort to Game 7.

i understand the offside rule, when the skate is off the ice, but perhaps they should revisit that ruling,
as his skate wasn't over the line at all, just off the ice, so if one thinks about that, it isn't offside
in reality, just by the rule, and has been called that way all the time. I think they should look and
see if the foot is 'past' the line, on or off the ice, then make the call.
i'll send them the memo, lol.

Good idea talloola.

Watching the Sharks and STL right now. STL just drew a 4-minute penalty after a nasty high stick that cut the mouth of a Shark but it didn't stop there as the guy now sitting in the penalty box also fired the puck at the Shark player's head. Sorry I don't know the players names.

Sharks ahead 2 zip almost midway through the 2nd.

Sharks ahead 3 - 0 early in the 3rd.

4 - zip Sharks ...............I have a feeling that San Jose is headed to the Cup and into the history books.............they have St Louis on their heels.

Hockey is very popular in Canada. I haven no idea why!

I haven idea that it might be because Canadians are so darn good at it..........and at winning too.

Oh, oh........not so fast................Tarashenko(sp?) just got two for the Blues one prior and one after they pulled their goalie. Sharks gotta get going.

Well the empty-netter did it for the Sharks and they are off to the Cup. There you go Shark fans - you're team just made history.

5 - 2 final.

By the by, darkbeaver..............Joe Thornton......captain of the San Jose Sharks...........he's Canadian as are several other players on the team.............15 Canadians are on their roster.

This is it folks............win or hit the beach........and yes Steven Stamkos will play tonight so I put that image up to honor his return worrisome to me and the Pens though it may be.

GO PENGUINS.......DIG DEEP.........DIG DEEPER..............GO!

Man oh man............talk about fast and furious .................both these teams are so quick..........back and forth like watching a tennis match. No score after 1.

I was thinking as I watched a TB player writhe in agony after blocking a shot that much as I love watching the play-offs they sure are brutal on the players. They must be black and blue all over by the end of a game.

Time for the Donald............no not that one...............the Canadian one. Cherry is not happy that Steven is playing........Ron disagrees and says he is cleared so should be playing.

What a beauty of a goal by Rusk......clean, crisp, no hesitation and whack in the net.

Good call refs.......send them both to the box and let them cool their heels for awhile.

does anyone really care what cherry thinks? I never watch him, as soon as intermission comes and
he is coming on, I quickly switch to 'anything'.

I watch him talloola.....well actually it is Ron Maclean I really like but Don has taught me a lot about hockey over the years. And, I always want to see what he will be wearing. Apparently, he gives jackets away to auctioned off and the money goes to his many charities and hockey teams. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he does a lot of good for kids and hockey. JMO.

I'm really happy to see Sid getting so much ice time. He's so valuable to the team even when he isn't scoring goals. I wonder if Rusk will get a hat-trick.......that would be cool.

Not bad for someone who got 5 goals in the regular season and now has 5 goals in the play-offs.........talk about being ready.

So far, I'd say that the Pens have the edge on TB. But I'm not counting my chickens.

2 - 1 Pens end of 2nd. Just 20 minutes of regulation left. Pens out-shooting TB by a very wide margin but it's pucks in the net that count in the end........would like to see a couple more by the Pens.

Agree with what the panel are saying about Sid showing real leadership in this game and that perhaps this is his best one of the play-offs.

And Malkin is showing his puck-handling and passing skills. Big guys stepping up.

Edit to correct an error. It is Rust........not Rusk.......my hearing isn't the best.

PENGUINS RULE

well, the right team won this series, I wasn't impressed with tampa bay much, at times yes, but they
just didn't have the intensity and drive to move on into the cup final.

nice to finally see Crosby look like Crosby, I had wondered where he went, I think he wondered where
he went too.

glad its over, should be a good final, may the best team win.
