It's funny. I've hated the Pens since day 1. Even as a kid I thought it was stupid to have Penguins as a name and even worse, their first arena was dubbed "The Igloo". But that's just me. I'm actually kind'a cheering for them this round because I just can't bring myself to cheer for a team located in the US capital. lol

Yeah, I can't be bothered with the playoffs with no Canadian teams playing!

Now that we've won and I can breathe a sigh of relief. I am going to miss this series. It was probably one of the most exciting ones I've watched in awhile. Mind you, I am not following the other teams in the play-offs so am only judging by the this one but from what I've been reading, a lot folks share my feelings. The Capitals were magnificent.

A team of cast-offs the announcers are calling the Pens - they sure can play hockey. Matt Murray......21 years old and off to the third round. Well done Matthew.

Washington going home, they didn't play well tonight at all, right from the drop of the puck, got
those two goals on the 4 min. double minor.
ovetchkin looked like a clutz tonight, and they are too slow.

I was definitely hoping for the capitals, but it isn't to be, so now
just have to see if Nashville or san jose do it tomorrow night, and this round will be over.

I'm with talloola on that one, JLM. They may not be Canadian teams but they do have Canadians on them and those Canadians help them win.

yes, its too bad that most people completely leave those players out of their thoughts, but of course
all of their relatives and others who live in their towns will tune in. many many Canadians playing,
as there really is no such thing as 'no Canadian teams', that is incorrect, people get hung up on the
names of the cities, the nhl is a 'north American league', not either u.s. or Canadian.

just checked, including Washington caps. there are still 84 Canadians playing in
the playoffs.

By all means Mowich, I wouldn't expect that fact to curtail anyone else's enjoyment. I just don't have too much interest in American teams. I like to watch teams I can cheer for. I'm involved with a few other things right now so any spare time I have is spent napping.:) :)

Oh no...............Ben Bishop is being carried off the ice on a stretcher after he somehow managed to twist his left knee - he cannot even stand. What a blow for Tampa.

Didn't slow them down a bit.......as they rolled over my Pens 3 - 1.

yes, what a severe blow for tampa, but new goalie played solid. I like this tampa team, they played

great against islanders, who I was cheering for, now i'll go with tampa. when Johnson was helped

off, I thought that would finish them off, but back he came, so that's good.

great series between Nashville/san jose, but just as Pittsburgh did to Washington in game 7, san jose

did the same to Nashville, they were awesome, so many high end players on that team. I've been

cheering for them since day one, and they are still in there, so in 'our' conference, I will stay

with them, but st. Louis is a great team too, so haven't got any feeling about who will win, should

be exciting, but whoever comes out of that series will be my pick for Stanley cup, go west go.

cute, I remember those days very well. montreal was my team, followed them all the time. those
old and famous players, good memories.

henry Richard, then guy lafleur were my favourites, followed montreal closely till l970 when
the canucks arrived, a warm spot in my heart for montreal for years, but not any longer, just
another eastern team now, lots of other teams in the west mean more to me now.

not better hockey back then, than now though, but very good memories for me, a few years without
television, everything was radio, and I ran out and bought the 'hockey news' as soon as it was
on the store shelves, read it cover to cover, then when it all came on tv it got even better,
and we've not looked back since.

Wouldn't you know it.............Sid finally comes through with his first goal of the play-offs - an OT one at that - helping the Pens to a win in their second game with TB to tie the series........and I missed it because a wind storm knocked our power out. Thank heavens for the internet where I just got to relive the goal, again and again. What a beauty. GO PENS, GO

Yee Haw............the Bonino line strikes and Phil gets the Pens their second goal of the game! The 2nd period belonged to the Pens. Oh, oh Tyler Johnson just got one by Murray and the game is tied 2 - 1 in the 3rd.

How's that again? :)

LOL! Good catch JLM....................shouldn't write when I am so excited - thank you. The score is now 3 - 1 after my guy Sid got us a PP goal.

Those two goals by Sid - the OT in the last game and this one on the PP to give us a two goal lead - important goals, big goals. Rock on Sidney Crosby. :canada:

Chris Kunitz just got us another beautiful goal and we're ahead 4 - 1.

I feel so sorry for Vasilevskiy he stopped over 35 shots tonight and when that last goal went in he looked as if all the air just went out of him. Mind you I don't feel sorry for TB, the Pens are out-playing them tonight.

Well Palat just got TB a goal with 1:44 to go in the 3rd.

" A dominant performance by Pittsburgh indeed" Crosby, Kessel Hagelin - 3 Stars. Pens now have 2 - 1 lead in the series.

ROCK ON PENGUINS!

The panel has a different take on Vas - apparently they feel some of his behavior was unacceptable - one said it was an insult to his team and that he should have been pulled.
