I'm not sure if any of that is good news! -:)

its just news - detroit/anaheim tied at 2 games a piece

l.a./ st. louis also tied at 2 games a piece

depends who you are cheering for I guess. I'm only really interested in the west, our conference.
I never cheer for an eastern team over a western team, so when the cup final is played it is the
west for me all the time.

In the east I am cheering for the underdogs.

islanders, toronto, ottawa, I don't like either washington or the rangers.

in the west I cheer for minny, st. louis, anaheim and canucks of course.

The Islanders definitely got the best of the Penguins tonight. Tavares had 2 goals in the game.

Habs went down to the Sens in OT. Price was hurt and Budaj? had to come in for OT.

The Wild's goalie ?Harding? got hurt in the 1rst P and an 18-year-old rookie had to come in. He got scored on quickly - poor kid what a way to have to start a play-off game.

l.a. is certainly battling, they were down 2-0 in the series, now they have won 3 in a row
and lead the series 3-2, and will be back in l.a. next for a possible series victory.
a hard fought battle between two tough teams, although s.t. louis does have trouble scoring
goals, they are not an easy team to play against, as they don't give you anything.
3-2 l.a.

rangers won over capitals, tieing series at 2 - 4-3 caps. I heard them say OV did not play well.

leafs played well, but boston came away with the win in OT 4-3, tough loss.

as we speak I am waiting for OT between wings and ducks. here it is, anaheim 3-2 in OT.

Well wulfie, it was the Pens turn to shine and tonight - they glowed. LOL! Volkoun - in for Fleury who was benched, good move by Blysma - got a shut-out stopping 31 shots. Rock on Thomas! And 'my guy' had a photo perfect goal after shuttling the puck between two Isles defenders then grabbing it on the other side and sailing it over the right shoulder of Nabokov who was leaning to his left - probably thinking Sid would come from there - wrong guess! The Pens lead the series 3 to 2 and can send the Islanders to the golf course next game - here's hoping. The final score: 4 - 0. Go Pens, Go!

The Habs will be loading up their clubs tomorrow after a nasty loss to the Senators tonight. Good on the Sens! If the Pens win their series, it the Sens they will face in the next round.

Watching the Wild play the Hawks right now.

wild are all done. Not much of a threat tonight, hawks made it look very easy.

they will play either san jose or detroit.

last period of the habs/senators game was pretty quiet, writing on the
wall, no stupid stuff, just playing out the clock for montreal.

toronto continues as well as detroit, still alive to play another day.

st. louis is all done, that is the toughest, grittiest series of all of them and
whatever teams havs to play l.a. will have their hands full.
tough, hard nosed hockey.

Well tonight is do or die for my boys and I have to admit I'm not feeling good about it. I'm pretty happy that they made a series of it but when Pittsburgh decided to tighten things up in the 2nd period of game 5, we didn't have the depth of talent to break out of it. Oh well, I'll be wearing my Isles jersey to work on Monday regardless: either in victory or to let the Pens fans have their day.

Hey wulfie.........as the Leafs just showed us.........in the play-offs some players rise to greatness.........anything can happen tonight and though we are on opposite sides of the 'bench', I would not count your Isles out. Looking forward to a great game by both teams.

i'm looking forward to tonights game too. no clue how it will go, but I have a feeling pitts. will
survive, because the goalie change did it for them in last change, BUT, never say never, as I
would be thrilled if islanders can pull this one off, and I would love to see tavares surge forward
into more limelight, he deserves it.

when backs are against the wall, its either, fold, or rise to the occasion and fight till the end, certainly hope its the latter for both teams, then we'll see a great game.

well, the islanders should have put penguins away many times during that game, but just couldn't
get any puck luck at all, and penguins did get that puck luck, while playing a game that was
definitely lacking in defense.

oh well, thats life, islanders will be back next year, tavares at the helm, and be even stronger,
after this experience.

penguins meet senators next, I will be cheering for the sens of course, not much left in canadian
teams now, but they are still here, so 'lets go sens'.

hopefully the leafs can upset the bruins, that would be sweet.

I will be cheering for the ducks tomorrow over the wings, but that series seems to be evening
up, but in anaheim, and game 7 the ducks should prevail, we'll see.

Well my Isles are done, and though I am disappointed, its the outcome I expected and I am proud they kept fighting until the end.

Now I'm cheering for the Pens (or will be once the bitter taste of defeat is washed away). I have never been a Sens fan; I think their organization looks good next to the Leafs, but that's not saying much if anything, considering how first Harold Ballard and then MLSE has mismanaged that franchise... and every year the national media would build them up as a contender, while the rest of us rolled our eyes. And no, the myth of Canadian teams doesn't mean anything to me, especially when I see the guy who set and the guy who scored the gold medal clinching goal wearing Pittsburgh black and gold.

I think the Pens have had their scare and will be nasty to play against for everyone else, on the way to the Finals.

Only got to see part of the 3rd and the OT, wulfie but from what the announcers were saying, the Isles played the better game and it was only Volkun who kept the Pens in.......again. Beauty set-up by Malkin on the OT goal by Orpik. Not all that impressed with the Pens in this series and it won't get any easier against the Sens.

Not a great game by my guys.....but they managed to win 4 - 1. Nicest goal of the game.........Dupuis' short-handed one after coming back from a nasty (legal) hit. Volkun did his job but if the Sens do their homework and watch the tape........he has trouble with the corners. Anderson actually looked beatable in this game..........and he was. ROCK ON PENGUINS!
