colorado avalanche ended chicago blackhawk's '24' game run, without a loss
in regulation time.

columbus on a nice run right now, four in a row, they beat detroit last night 3-0.
canucks will play them again tuesday before they fly home, hope they can get a win this time,
but with columbus playing so tough right now, have to cross our fingers and hope.
Again, because teams are sitting at certain places in the standings, really has no influene
on winning or losing because teams have slumps and also get on a roll throughout the season,
so depends at what point teams play each other.
canucks near the top of the conference, but not playing well right now, so they have to dig deep
to find some wins, doesn't really matter who they are playing.
Minnesota won today, canucks play them tomorrow, and they are only 2 points behind
vancouver, very important game.
once one gets past the 2nd spot in the western conference, third to eleventh place
are only two points apart, kind of fun now to see what teams can hang in there
and what teams slip down and out of the running as the season moves along.
calgary are definitely struggling, lost last night 4-0 to anaheim, and tonight 6-0 to los angelos.
not sure what the future of that team is, maybe iginla and kiprisoff will be gone by trade deadline,

Also, edmonton oilers are 'not' doing well at all, the mixture of all of the young
highly talented players doesn't seem to be working, they are not jelling,
can't score enough goals, and teams check those young stars very closely, and
they aren't big enough to battle their way around the rink, they need some help.

who would have thunk it, but I saw it, edmonton defeated chicago 6-5 in regulation, 'in' chicago today.
wow, on a 9 game road trip, the oilers have been horrendous, but today is a day they can smile about,
good for them.
canucks lost to minnesota, so now they have switched spots in the division, minny now on top, they ae
tied in points, but minny have more wins.
canucks power play has completely dried, so until that returns they will muddle around, but eventually
they will fix the problem and push themselves again, and fight for that top spot in the division again.

canucks can go home feeling slightly better about themselves, they are back in the lead again in the
north west div., although over the next while that could bounce back and forth many times, as standings

they are in, that will keep them tough and hungry every game.
I don't like them cruising along way out in front, that isn't healthy, and
creates bad habits.

one never knows what philly is going to do this season, one game they look good,
next they look awful, no consistency at all.
calgary defeated detroit tonight, first period 'all detroit', but score was 2-1
calgary, the rest of the game calgary came alive and looked awsome, where was
'that' team on their road trip, where they were outscored 13-1 in 3 games.
final score calgary 5- detroit 2
montreal won again tonight, defeated ottawa in a shoot out

Philly won the rematch in the shootout. Devils made many shots all game long but kept missing shot after shot. Their defense was not assertive and even knocked down their own goalie thereby enabling the Philly goal.
nashville lost again tonight to calgary. they aren't having a very good northwest trip, and on
sunday they play edmonton, hopefully edmonton can dispose of them as well.

I was happy to see winnipeg come back to defeat the bruins, good for them.
Too bad montreal lost to buffalo, one of the worst teams this year, but that old montreal/buffalo
rivalry is alive and well.

what an exciting game tonight, the two best teams in the NHL going at it. Chicago/Anaheim, in anaheim
tied at 1 for awhile, then chicago went ahead 2-1, last half of 3 rd period, looked like chicago
was going to prevail, anaheim seemed to be losing the pace a bit, but then they scored and tied
it up, and in less than a minute they went ahead, ended up scoring an empty netter, final score

jarome iginla is now a pittsburg penguin. I watched his press conference this morning.
Obviously pittsburg is 'all in' now and wanting to make a serious charge toward the stanley cup,
no guarantees of course, but I can say one thing, if they make it to the finals along with chicago
blackhawks, it will be a very exciting stanley cup playoff final, I look forward to it.
I'm expecting many different player movements in the next week, everyone trying to fill the holes in
their teams as they near the playoffs.

News flash- I see there are tickets for N.H.L. games available for as little as $3 and lots at $6 and $7. The one catch with the $3 tickets ..........you have to watch Calgary playing Colorado-

hmmm, I assume you are joshing about the two teams, cause one could not get tickets at those prices for
those games, but if you mean florida or phoenix and such teams, yeah, some very low prices, but also no one would
go to those games if tickets were more, so its all about demand right, and in the NHL the 'haves' prop up
the 'have nots' between all of the teams, so no one goes under.
One would think the owners of the well to do teams would get very tired of giving and giving and giving to
financially prop up the unsuccessful teams.
