I think Burke is just one of these poor individuals that never learned how to live- his glass isn't half empty, it's got a hole in the bottom!

Rangers blew it against Philly ~ no forecheck, no shooting, can't fight, and weak checking. That's why they lost.

i'm sure philly had a little to do with the loss as well, takes two to tango.

back to back games for rangers, sometimes that brings a bit of fatigue, don't
think philly played last night.

Minnesota Wild played lackluster vs Detroit who out muscled them. 5-3 win for Wings.

did you notice the magic of pavel datsyuk tonight, he was superb with that 'thread the needle' passing he
is so famous for.
bertuzzi is also back after illness and played very well, first game that detroit has played where they
look like their old selves.
took minny by surprise, me thinks.

loved seeing the jets beat pittsburg tonight, sweet
ottawa suffered their first loss of the season to tampa bay

canucks started their first road game rather sluggish, anaheim controlled the game most of the
first period,BUT anaheim began taking stupid penalties, canucks took advantage and took
the lead 2-0, and throughout the game again scored on the power play till they finally
won the game 5-0, scoring 3 on the PP.

daniel, raymond, volpatti, kasian and again raymond for his second of the night, he was very
strong on the puck all game, schneider was a wall in goal, and anaheim became very frustrated.
twins had a strong game.

sunday in san jose, 5 oclock start

chicago just keeps rolling right along, 5 games -5 wins, so they sit at the top of the league, with

san jose right behind them, only because they have only played 4 games, with 4 wins.

edmonton played calgary tonight, and even though oilers have all of those very talented young
top end players, it is still quite apparent that they still need something else, only because all of
those players are not 'gritty' at all, they fly around making nice passes, but can't seem to finish
very well, non of them are big, in fact they are small and lean, especially gagne who is tiny.
Yakipov, the new #1 overall pick is small but fast and very young, only 19, maybe still 18.

They definitely need some size and physical toughness on the team, and although their defense is better than
last season, still not quite there.

toronto lost to the rangers

anaheim defeated nashville in a shoot out

st.louis defeated dallas

philly defeated florida, wow, florida is really struggling, ( those luongo rumours are starting again)

first win of the season for los angelos tonight.

6 games now and 6 wins for chicago, what a start- 2-1 over detroit

5 games now and 5 wins for san jose, as they defeated canucks 4-1. although canucks had 4 goal posts and
one cross bar, which could have changed the outcome, it just didn't happen, and san jose was just too
much for canucks, bigger stronger and better.

san jose are a very 'big' team,
and very seasoned, as they have had many very good seasons without good endings, they could very well
be fed up with that story, and plan a different ending this time, we'll see.

I can't wait till chicago play san jose, then we'll see just who is the most determined, and st. louis is right up there too.

washington got their first win, and ovetchkin got his first goal, up till today they have been at the
bottom of the nhl standings. they beat buffalo tonight 3-2

pittsburg 2 ottawa 1, montreal 4 new jersey 3 OT, winnipeg 5- islanders 4 OT, 5-4 st. louis over minnesota,
5-1 tampa bay over philly

canucks in los angelos, monday

san jose is now the only team with the perfect 6 wins no losses, as chicago lost in a shoot out tonight to
minnesota.

ottawa defeated montreal 5-1. subban will be joining his team soon, as contract is settled.

edmonton defeated phoenix 2-1 in overtime.

canucks defeated colorado 3-0, good game, luongo was solid and the crowd chanted loooooooo when he was
being interviewed after the game, and with good saves as well.
he is being embraced by the fans right now, nice to see that, he has taken so much flack in vancouver,
I don't know why he would want to stay, but it seems he is very well liked by the team, and schneider,
and he seems happy on to be there.

not sure what the plans are with the goalies, but I don't care right now, i'm enjoying both goalies
being there, makes the team stronger, if the right trade comes along for gillis to pull off, fine, but
I like it that he isn't giving him away, and who knows, maybe schneider will be traded, just a thought.

chicago is in town on friday, a tough game for sure, should be exciting.

I've watched more NHL this season than in the past 10 seasons combined. I notice that referees are making many ticky tacky calls (much like the NBA) which disrupts the flow of the game. Many if not most are needless and are designed to prolong the game so that more beer and junk can be sold. Commercialization really screws the sport.

I don't believe it has anything to do with commercialization, but it is definitely because the play
is just too fast for them, they miss many calls, and make wrong calls, it is just the way it is,
and has been for some time, I notice the players are use to it, so don't have a hissy fit
over them, but it is hard to watch many times, and I know its not going to stop.

nice to see rangers defeat boston, nice to see anyone defeat boston.

also ottawa defeated buffalo, wonder how solid lindy ruff's job is these days, maybe this is it for him.
good for ottawa.

montreal defeated tampa bay in a shoot out, good, another canadian victory

I was cheering hard for winnipeg, but philly edged them out 3-2

san jose lost another one, they are definitely coming back to normal now.

anaheim defeated chicago in a shoot out, so chicago still have 'no' regulation time losses.
a very good game.

dallas defeated edmonton 4-1, too bad, but that yagr still has it, and as talented and fast
as those young stars are for edmonton, dallas were the better team.

vancouver over minnesota 2-1, hard fought last period, canucks were on the ropes at times, but
overall, the better team, luongo again, played very well.

you're bad. ----lol

i'm listening to team 1040 and watching tv at same time. can't figure them out on the radio. they
are complaining about how boring the games are, they want to see more goals, they say the games
aren't enjoyable.
now, if many goals were scored, they would be trashing canuck goalies for being sieves and running
down the defense for not helping them.

why can't these people enjoy the skills of the game, defensively and offensively. I love seeing good
defensive plays and great goaltending.

I enjoyed the game tonight because I love hockey, played at the highest level, and that includes good
defense, great checking, great goaltending, and I love to see how hard it is to actually score a goal.
I love to see players 'stop' other players from doing what they want to do.

I enjoy the just abouts.

And, when they 'do' manage to score, great.

I'm just venting, as it is annoying to hear someone say the game was boring, when 'all' the players on
the ice are playing their guts out, then announcers have the poor taste to call it boring.
the young goaltender for minnesota played his very first nhl game ever, he did well,
and I noticed luongo wishing him good luck before the game, very nice to see.

Hissy fit? Jeezo weezo.

They now have 2 refs & 2 linesmen which should be more than enough to cover the action. But the ticky tacky calls for hooking, holding, or whatever is silly. Obviously intended to prolong the game. Wasn't done in the old days when I was a big fan of NHL. Maybe if enough people complain something will be done to change things and let the flow of the game move along smoothly. But to each his/her own.

But to each his/her own.

in the old days, clutching and grabbing was allowed, which slowed the game down a lot. The game is much
faster now, and players must keep their sticks to themselves, and not hooking on the hands of a player.
And, yes, those hooking calls do get annoying, but I wouldn't change that for the rides players use to get
while hooked onto a player in front of them, and that also slowed the play.

Keep hands to yourself, not on another player, which slows the play. The skating in todays hockey is
better than ever, the game is fast, free flowing, players are bigger, hits are harder because of more
speed.

If one sits and watches old classic hockey, it is slow compared to todays game.

What I don't like in the game today, is 'STAGED' fights, they are tacky, roller derby, wrestling
type acting, which cheapens the game, a good spontaneous fight is understandable, but even those
have to be limited.
