L.A. leading 4/2 :)

5-3 now, 4:15 to go

looks like kings will have 60 pts, so they Are also creeping up and
making that stat sheet more crowded.

final score - 5-3 l.a.

a win on friday by canucks would be very valuable indeed, we'll see,
then calgary on saturday.

chicago def. n.j. - 3-1

dallas def florida - 2-0

san jose def. ariz. - 4-2

vanc'r def. bos. - 5-2

dallas creeps up again, chicago holding their own, san jose hangs on to their spot
for the moment.

vancouver wins an important game, so calgary game tomorrow will be a doozey, hope
their legs hold out for 60 mins.

low clipping hit on seguin, not sure of his condition, had to leave the game, 5 min. major game mis.
should be a suspension for 'dimitry kulikov'.
good night of hockey, and tomorrow is hockey day in canada, games start at 11:00, all canadians
playing throughout the day, ending with calgary and vancouver.

i must commend the coaching staff for vancouver, a very smart and knowledgeable group. desjardin
has made some moves recently which definitely have jolted his team into action.

the player meeting at ubc, after the practice last week, the benching of kassian to make himrethink his play on the ice, definitely has done that, and the team has responded to his
meeting, which was a very serious and important one that left each player knowing his position
on the team, and what he expects from here on.
his move to take vrbata away from the first line, and put burrows, which has made 'both' lines
much better. the twins were doing nothing to help vrbata, who is a top goal scorer, and when
burrows arrived on that line, he lit a fire under the twins, and they have played better ever
since.

so, 'KUDOS' to WILLIE DESJARDIN', always thinking of ways to make his team better, he is a players
coach all the way, they respect him and like him, and he supports them all the way, he is a classy
and knowledgeable coach.

well, they definitely have had good consistency for a long time now, barring injury they should be a
force to reckon with right down to the wire. good for 'vineault' to win his 500th.

well, oilers didn't do too well today, didn't see the game, but the score says a lot, ottawa 7 oilers 2

montreal 2-1 over toronto

watched most of the winnipeg-detroit game, always entertaining watching winnipeg, and against detroit,
definitely a good game, winnipeg in a shoot out 5-4

minnesota again, 6-3 over carolina

dallas did canucks a favour by losing tonight. seguin will be out 3 to 6 weeks, and there is an in house
hearing for kulikov, probably 5 games i'm thinking.

calgary over vancouver 3-2, good game, but calgary did have more chances, miller played lights out,
and canucks lost edler in the 3 rd period, they also had played last night, so that 3rd period
without edler was hard, but they did hang in there, had some chances, but it was not to be, calgary
went on to win it.

l.a. over washington 3-1

winnipeg 68, san jose 66, vanc'r 65, cAlgary 65, minnesota 63, l.a. 62, dallas 60

get ready everyone this is going to be a fun ride.

canucks vs wild on monday, will be a doozy, important game, well, they all are from here on in, so i
won't keep saying that, its a given.

Sharks and Ducks both go down in defeat within minutes of each other!

If you have some more accurate news, Cannuck, perhaps you'd like to share it. (I'd probably accept ESPN's version) :) :) :) :)

that was quite a match, tough for the islanders though, as they led most of the way, didn't see
the last part of the game.
what a great rivalry.

------------------------winnipeg won against edmonton in A shoot out, that was also a very good game.

just watched canucks defeat minnesota in a great game, a very close game, and a frenZy at the end,
but eddie lack stood tall, and canucks won 3-2, in reg. time.

canucks had 3 of their top 4 defencemen out of the lineup, but they rose to the challenge, the defense
played great, alex burrows played his heart out, and the twins had a good game.
bo horvat is getting better and better all thetime, that was fun.

calgary trailed boston 3-0, and 'of course'in the 3 rd period the game was 3-3, and calgary won it OT.
too bad for canucks, but thats the way it goes, they have to keep battling to keep inside that playoff
line.

Yeah, it wouldn't have hurt my feeling too much if Boston had have won that one. They aren't going very far anyway. Canucks showed Minnie who the best team was tonight. Gotta love that Eddie Lack.

canucks also had 17 turnovers tonight, but they blocked lots of shots and kept minny to a low shot total.
a bit messy at times by canucks, this game could have gone either way, but nice that it went canucks
way.

the rest of the season will be full of games like this one, very high intensity, playoff type hockey, because
a couple of these teams will be 'out' of the playoffs, and none of them want to be one of those teams.

Canucks are in 6th place in the West now, hopefully 4th or 5th by the end of the road trip. The problem is they will be playing east coast teams, so they won't be killing any of their contenders.

My hunch is the Canucks will be on the outside looking in when the playoffs roll around. Not that they have a bad team but the likes of San Jose, LA, Calgary and Winnipeg will be hard to keep up with.

You definitely have a point as the Canucks will just be "treading water" for the next 5 games........at best! By early April however they will prevail.

i agree about l.a.,minnesota winnipeg and calgary, but not san jose, they haven't played well all season, no
consistency.
and l.a. won again tonight by the way, now a point ahead of minnesota.

but yes, two or three of these teams will be squeezed out, BUT take note of the loser points, canucks are
second behind nashville with the least loser points, and when the season ends, and might be some tie
breakers, the points that teams have acquired 'as a loser point' will be taken away, in a tie breaker situation, which at the moment
looks very good for canucks, so of course its still better to get that point when you lose, but when they
win its better to win in regulation, and leave the other team with nothing.

if, when the dust settles, the canucks are not in the playoffs, so far i have enjoyed their hockey, the
style they play, the coaching, and i can see that next year and years to follow, they will have more
success, under this management, i realize now just how bad mike gillis was, he was a rookie manager,
and hAd to learn on the job, made mega mistakes, including the hiring of torterella.

well, 'if' they happen to win the next 5 games they will be doing much better than treading water.

Not really unless the other teams are losing- at best the next 5 games will only be 2 point games.

yep, which totals to 10 pts. i dont expect canucks to win all of the games at all, but neither
do i expect their rivals to do same, depends on their schedules as well, and who they are playing.

canucks have a bit better schedule going on to the end of the season than their rivals, two of the pacific
divisions teams still have their 7 game road trips to do.

i told you many times that i don't expect canucks to sail through this season without some push back from
other teams in the west, for reasons i explained before. so now they are in that position. if anyone
thinks l.a., minnesota, calgary and san jose possibly are satisfied 'out' of the playoffs, they are
mistaken.

l.a. have 5 wins in row now, minnesota are pushing hard, could easily have won another one last night,
canucks weren't better than them in the game, but they did win.

unless canucks go on some miraculous winning streak, i expect them to fall below 8th spot perhaps, and
have tofight their way back into playoff contention, just like their rivals are doing.

its lucky for canucks that minny, dallas, l.a. haven't been up where i expected them to be all along,
because canucks and calgary
would have had a very difficult time catching them, at least now the others
are in that position instead.

i certainly hope canucks make the playoffs, but if they don't i can certainly see why, they are giving it a good shot, and i will not think of them as failures if they don't because it most likely would be because
those better teams finally played the way they can.

it will be interesting to watch from here to the end of the season. i don't consider san jose a better team,
canucks are about evenly balanced with them, player for player, but san jose can have trouble with goalkeeping, but canucks also can from miller at times.

Yep, it will be interesting for sure, but they WILL make the playoffs, just need a few healthy defensemen. I figure they should get 7 points on this road trip--wins against Beantown, Joisy and Buffalo and an O.T. loss against the Rangers or Islanders. I think Minny may have blown their chance last night. Anyway something to watch!

enjoy your wishfull thinking, i will wait and see, i have no idea, can't predict, for me games have to be
played first, i guess its fun to predict, then hope it all comes to pass.

even buffalo have 'some' wins, and some ofthem were against much better teams than they.

I believe in mental telepathy, Talloola, if you and I both think hard on it, it will all come to pass. :) They have the "tools", they just have to use them.
