Hmmm- Looks like the Ducks are starting to falter a bit! Doesn't hurt my feelings. Boston just lost another one. Probably won't lose much sleep over that either!

i watched winnipeg and minnesota play tonight, a very exciting gAme indeed. that winnipeg team is so
big and so physical, they get any team they are playing going. winnipeg won it in OT, big buffelin
scored (best guess spelling, can't begin to spell his name as it should be).
he is a dynamic player, and a very very good player, and anything he hits, or any player who hits him,
the other guy gets the worst of it every time.

edmonton lost to islanders tonight, but it was a very good game, both teams played well, someone's got
to win, and the loser isn't always 'a loser', a real good game is when both team play well, and its very exciting and full of energy, irrespective of the outcome.

glad rangers defeated toronto

minnesota is now only 2 pts behind vancouver, and l.a. and dallas only 1 pt behind
minnesota, calgary and san jose just 2 pts up on vancouver, so just as i thought
all along, this stat board will be bunched up and teams will be battling big time
for 1 and 2 pts each game to try to stay ahead of the other.

with l.a. and minnesota on the move now, i don't give vancouver much hope of
hanging onto that last playoff spot, and dallas is even a threat, so it isn't
that vancouver is sinking, it will be that those others are on the move 'up',
and that is what they should be doing, they Are too good to sit that far down
the list, they should have been up higher all along.

i wonder what team will end up with evander kane, i know he won't be playing till next season, but a
trade could happen anytime, its fun to go thru all the possible teams who will be interested and
also try to figure out who and what they will have to give up to get him. he is a young dynamic,
big, fast, great player, who will improve any team he is part of. he is growing up still, has a
few immature traits, which will smooth themselves out as he matures, no biggy, would love to see
him come to vancouver, (his home town), but they don't have enough high end players to make a trade.
it definitely would have to be a first round pick, plus two other players, probably A roster player
and a prospect.

you should have hoped for boston to defeat dallas, now dallas is another 2 pts closer to vancouver.

i feel sorry for kane, having to go to buffalo, but that is what happens when one is young and foolish,
and makes immature decisions, now he will have to continue growing up in buffalo, which isn't a very
interesting city to play in, the city is awful, but hockey team is turning the corner now, from the
bottom of the league.
he obviously did not have a no trade contract, he is too young to have, that would have been available
in his next contract.
winnipeg is a vibrant, exciting team, with a very good coach, and a bunch of big, energetic good players,
too bad he didn't feel content to stay with them, BUT, i'm never going to bury kane because of his
antics, he is far too young to trash all over him, he will learn from this, and move forward.

other young players have made mistakes too, then moved on and improved, patrick kane being one of those.

pittsburgh defeated detroit 4-1, watched a bit of that game.

vancouver over chicago 5-4 in overtime. a very good and entertaining game for the keen hockey fan,
eddie lack played well, let in one soft one.

twins were very good in the 4 on 4 in overtime, this is where they shine, with more room, they tickey
tacked with the puck until finally henrik made a nice pass to daniel as he approached the goal, and
he shot it home.

checking was very good tonight, i thought vancouver outplayed chicago for the most part, until the
third period, when chicago ramped up their game, allowing the tie.

poor choice by vrbata taking a dumb penalty late in the gAme, caused a goal.

anyway, they are winning one, losing one, so this was the night to win the game, and they did.

san jose and washington are playing as we speak in san jose, hoping for washington in this game for
obvious reasons, none of which are because i like washington, i like san jose better, but because of
the standings, they don't need any points right now.

your alter ego must be posting on the cAnuck site. lol

Oooooooooooops sorry about that. I generally post of the site that I'm responding to, other I guess Canuck stuff should go on the Canuck site and hockey in general can go on this site. I'll try to be more careful in future. As far as Canucks are concerned, I just wish they'd do what they are capable of and 4 short handed stints in a row isn't kosher. :)

doesn't matter what site you post to, its all hockey. i enjoy this site more, i'm a person for all teams,
all about the game, and see many of the canuck comments as completely one sided, both negative and positive, and the opposition doesn't
seem to be important as to what happens between both teams, chicago is a very good team, and they don't
stand around like pilons, and let their opposition dictate what is going to happen, just as any team
doesn't want to do that.

there are very good players on the chicAgo team, plAyers i like, as well as on the canucks.
its not a blame game, it is hockey game, should be fun and enjoyable for everyone, win or lose.

Yep, I don't think anyone takes Chicago lightly. Actually I don't take any of them lightly because at times they can all (even Toronto) whoop your $ss. :)

well yeah, that is the way hockey is, even though the stats show first place down to last place, as i've
said many times, there often is certain reasons why teams flounder for a while, and often its just that
they aren't as consistent As some other teams, but we can easily see in the western conference just how
this season started, with top teams that just couldn't get going, and now, 'here' they come. minnesota
plays florida tonight, i'll watch for that score.

even the bottom teams are better than any other league. i remember juan use to go by 'where' teams were on
the standings and think all of the teams higher should beat teams that were lower, well thAt is nieve,
and it doesn't work that way, it is a process over 82 gAmes, then there is a decision.

the wonder and surprise of all of it is pArt of the enjoyment, i think.

the game is a game of mistakes, just like almost all games, the fewer mistakes made usually belongs to
the victor.

but then the factor of 'good luck and bad luck' enter into it, you often hear the players talk about good bounces and not having good bounces, well, that is a big part of the games, all of those shots thAt
are shot from the blue line can hit 'anything' and either go in or not, that is just luck or not.

for me its all fun and enjoyment and A great game.

What's your prediction between the Flames and the Kings?

i'm looking forward to that one, l.a. are at home so i give them the edge, but i don't
see l.a. as a better team right now than calgary, calgary is getting better and better
as the year goes on, they are for real, two of the best defencemen in the leage in
giordano and brody, and good goalkeeping, even mason raymond lately is playing good,
although in l.a. not so sure how he will play, as l.a. is big and rough, that usually
makes raymond fade a bit.
guess we have to cheer for l.a. so cAlgary won't go ahead of canucks again.

i just hope it is a fast and exciting game.

Another tough game for the Maple Laffs!

Ho ho- the Oilers just beat the Habs! Now we just need Calgary to lose!

Minnesota: Gopher State
Isles > Maple "Laffs" 3-2

in truth, the Leafs had a decent game as the Isles took an early lead but had trouble maintaining control of the puck -Isles lucked out and held on to the lead but just barely
