do you have any idea when the islanders will build a new rink, this Brooklyn rink
is certainly poor for sight lines, not suited to hockey at all.

Barclay Center near downtown Brooklyn where I spent the earliest years of my life is brand new. Isles will not get another arena for at least another 30 years or longer.

None of the three NYC area hockey teams were online tonight so I watched Buffalo Sabres in their OT loss to Ottawa 2-1. It was a great game that featured many solid (but clean) hits.

yes, I watched that game too, it was good.

the rink where isles play, from what I heard, isn't really built for hockey at all, so has areas where
fans cannot see the play at all, and have to watch it on the tv till the play comes back into their
sight lines, that certainly isn't going to go over well for very long.

Tie Domi causes stir after tweeting photo of son Max wearing Trump socks
POSTMEDIA NETWORK

Only during the most divisive election in memory would a pair of vanity socks cause such an uproar.
Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi tweeted a photo Wednesday of his NHLer son, Max, showing off star-spangled Donald Trump socks with the caption, "Game day socks. Make America Great again."
"My son @max_domi wore these socks yesterday and he is [Canadian]. @realDonaldTrump won & so did @ArizonaCoyotes," the 47-year-old hockey vet typed alongside the image.
It didn't take long for the backlash on Twitter to begin, with fans expressing their anger at what they interpreted as Domi family support for controversial president-elect Donald Trump.
"The Domi family lost a lot of respect with this," tweeted Nick Richard.
"I've been a fan of yours since I was old enough to understand hockey. This makes me sick," added Emiley MacKinnon.
Domi's daughter, Avery, was quick to come to the defence of Tie and Max.
"My bro & dad don't know anything about politics nor do they care cuz we are Canadian," Avery tweeted. "None of us voted. Take a joke ppl, they're just socks!"
Photo tweeted out by Tie Domi through his official Twitter account. It is apparently Max Domi's game-day socks.

Stay out of Canada: Cherry to America's left wing kooks

Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry wasn't exactly laying out the welcome mat for disappointed U.S. Democrats.
“The left wing kook entertainers and the left wing weirdo’s in the media in the US have said if Trump wins the presidency they will move to Canada.,” Cherry tweeted Wednesday morning. “Please, we have enough of these type here now. “
Several celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Barbra Streisand have suggested they would leave the U.S. if Donald Trump were elected president.
"I'm either coming to your country, if you'll let me in, or Canada,” Streisand told Australian TV.
On election night, the country's citizenship and immigration website crashed and there were reports that Americans were googling how to move to Canada.

are hilarious, but he should have known the ruckus it would start, even though it might have

been a joke, there are so many that won't see the funny side of it at all, and never will.

just something else to keep the fire burning. lol

Well it took almost two years to reach that point, so I don't think we'll hear the end of it anytime soon! Sounds like there's quite a lot of fear mongering happening.

Hurricanes forward Bryan Bickell diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
First posted: Friday, November 11, 2016 03:53 PM EST | Updated: Friday, November 11, 2016 04:04 PM EST
RALEIGH, N.C. — Carolina Hurricanes forward Bryan Bickell has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
The team announced the diagnosis on Friday.
“Since the 2015 playoffs, I’ve been struggling to understand what was going on with my body,” Bickell said in a release. “Again during the past few weeks, it felt like something wasn’t right. Obviously this is a bit of shock for my family and me, but I am hopeful I will be able to return to the ice and continue playing the game that I love.”
Bickell, 30, has scored one goal in seven games with the Hurricanes this season.
The Bowmanville, Ont., native was acquired by Carolina on June 15 from Chicago, where he was a member of the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
Bickell was drafted by Chicago in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2004 NHL draft, and has scored 66 goals and earned 70 assists in 391 NHL career regular-season games with the Blackhawks and Hurricanes
“First and foremost, the most important thing is for Bryan to take care of himself and our thoughts are with him and his family,” said Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis. “He will need to take some time to rest in the immediate future, and we will support him as he takes the necessary steps for his health. We ask that his privacy be respected during the process.”

Well this isn't going the way I hoped it would. First time I get to see the Penguins in weeks and they are so out of sync it is pitiful. Their opponents the Caps are up 5 - 0 with just over 11 minutes left in the 3rd.

Matt Murray was taken out of the game earlier after his helmet was accidentally pulled off by Malkin who followed that up by accidentally whacking Matt under the chin with his stick.........and that was it for Matt. Fluery came in and almost immediately gave up another goal.

I heard on Tim and Sid tonight that it's been a rough week for injuries in the NHL. Heard that Steven Stamkos is out again with a knee injury. Johnny Gudreau is out after being repeatedly hit in his last game to the point he had to leave the ice - needless to say the Flames are very upset as they had reported the earliest incidents to the refs and nothing was done. Two other players were mentioned but I can't remember their names at the moment.

Urgh........make that 5 zip. Not only do they have a lousy defence tonight, they can't find the net and compound that by taking really stupid penalties.

6 - 0............about 5 minutes left................there will be no comeback tonight........if they get a goal if will have to be off the stick of a Cap.........really they are that bad.

It had to be Phil.............Kessel got us a goal!.............and the Caps come right back score another........

I think Marc Andre needs glasses..............he's not seeing anything tonight

a one sided affair with the Caps outplaying and out muscling the Pens - as with other games this year, there appear to be an unusual amount of high sticking incidents with players getting hit on the face or hands

well the other guy had to leave as malkin's stick hit him across the face.

yeah, what a weird game for those two teams, one would have thought it would have been a very
exciting hard fought game, not so.
