... never heard of this hockey player till this moment....

He hasn't been mentioned much on TSN...that's probably why.

As for Kane, that is going to down in history as one of the most lopsided trades ever. The negatives of Kane eliminates any positives gained from Bogosian. In effect, the Sabres just gave the Jets a handful of good players for nothing. The Jets will be the best Canadian team this year BTW.

don't think this player has ever played in the nhl, not that I know of anyway, could be wrong.

kane is an excellent player, if he can get himself past this immature behavior, and addiction to
alchohol, if he has that, and begin to move forward, he is a high end player and can help any
team, so I would never just give up on him. kassian seems to have finally moved away from a
very similar life style. these players need a lot of help, and they need to buy in to the help
they get, many young men go thru this disturbing behavior, till finaly the little light goes on.

he's only 24, I'd like to see him work his way out of this. rumours are that buffalo g.m. wants
to dump him, maybe only rumours, don't know.

he went into Atlanta at a very young age, then was handed a big contract and like some others at
that age, it all went to his head, he's not stupid, he loves to play hockey, so like kassian, he
will go to a team that might be his last in the nhl, hopefully that will give him the jolt he needs,
I'm for him getting better, or maybe buffalo will spend the time needed to help him.

maybe he can come home and play for the canucks, a classy organization who have
great leaders, and the people behind the scenes to help him out.

I've watched him play for a long time

As have many... many others. I can count on the fingers of an armless man, how many knowledgeable hockey people think Kane has been excellent. Of course, you're a Canucks fan so your standards of excellence are obviously lower than most

I miss hockey. I enjoyed it for decades.

Year after year I would watch Montreal humiliate Toronto every second or third Saturday night, for years I didn't realize they played on mondays as well.

I'm very comfortable with my knowledge of hockey, not a canucks fan, a hockey person, very interested in
many players, like to watch their progress, or not, and certainly don't have to depend on you to
make my mind clear of what I am seeing.

That's good news because I'm not a pharmacist

I stopped supporting the NHL when the league started moving teams from hockey hotbeds to hockey wastelands. Now that the Jets are back and the Nordiques will soon be, I'm a fan again. Someday Vancouver may get a team as well.

Sabres' Kane pleads not guilty to charges in bar harassment case
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
First posted: Monday, August 01, 2016 02:09 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, August 01, 2016 02:25 PM EDT
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane pleaded not guilty Monday to charges alleging he grabbed three women during an altercation at a downtown bar in June.
Kane didn't speak as his attorney entered the plea for him in Buffalo City Court during the brief appearance. Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee scheduled his next court date for Sept. 9.
Kane, who turns 25 Tuesday, was arrested July 22 after turning himself in to police. He was charged with non-criminal harassment, disorderly conduct and trespass and was released after being processed.
The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred early on June 24 at Bottoms Up, a nightclub in Buffalo's popular Chippewa Street entertainment district. Three women said they were grabbed by Kane inside the bar. A male bar employee said he also had a run-in with the NHL player.
His lawyer, Paul Cambria, has questioned why Kane was charged with trespassing when he was invited to the bar by its owner. Cambria called the allegations "extremely exaggerated" while saying his client "denies strenuously any wrongdoing."
Cambria also played down reports that some of the encounters were captured by the bar's video surveillance cameras.
Erie County Acting District Attorney Michael Flaherty said, "it's our opinion that the evidence does support the charges," but wouldn't go into details about what the video showed.
According to the complaints given to police by the three women, Kane either pulled their hair or grabbed them by neck during encounters inside the bar. One of the women said Kane told her, "You're coming to my house with me and you're going to like it."
When the woman told him no, Kane grabbed her around the neck with both hands, the woman told police.
Another woman told police that Kane grabbed her hair from behind, while the third said he grabbed her throat and pulled her hair.
A bouncer told police that the DJ sent him a text around 3 a.m. saying, "Kane's gotta go." The bouncer said that after he told Kane he had to leave the nightclub, Kane pushed him twice before "someone else grabbed Kane and walked him out the back."
After the bar closed, employees watched video surveillance that showed Kane grabbing one of the women by the throat on the dance floor, the bouncer said.
In March, prosecutors announced that Kane would not face a sexual assault charge stemming from a December incident in Buffalo because there was no evidence to support the allegation.
The fourth player selected in the 2009 draft, Kane was acquired in a multiplayer trade with Winnipeg in February 2015. He scored 20 goals and added 15 assists in 65 games last season. He has two years remaining on his contract.

yep evander has got himself into a bit of a mess, nothing violent it seems, but enough to attract a lot
of attention and the video, whatever it shows might put him deeper into trouble, don't know that yet.

he pleaded 'not guilty', but the charges against said he grabbed 3 women, and it seems he was seen
grabbing one woman, so that is a hazy part of things.

whatever the video shows is key now.

don't know where he fits into buffalo's future on the ice, haven't seen anything further from them yet,
so that is up in the air for now.

we'll just have to follow updates and see where this goes, I'm not speculating at all about what he did
or did not do.

Nothing violent it seems? Good Gawd you're silly

my statement means, there wasn't any injuries, no one hospitalized, in my opinion that would enter
into violence, if grabbing the woman was a violent move, that is what would have happened, we
always have to remember 'the media' and how they dramatize many things, so I will go with
what I have read to this point, and yes, it seems there was nothing 'violent', that doesn't
means it was nothing at all.

whatever you call me doesn't matter, I have no respect for your opinion.

Woman sues, says Sabres' Evander Kane injured her
The Associated Press
First posted: Tuesday, August 02, 2016 01:11 PM EDT | Updated: Tuesday, August 02, 2016 04:32 PM EDT
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A 21-year-old Buffalo woman has sued Sabres forward Evander Kane, saying he seriously injured her in the hotel room where he lives.
Documents filed July 1 in Erie County State Supreme on behalf of Rachel Kuechle Court say Kane met her in a bar, invited her to what he said was a party and then attacked her, causing cuts and bleeding that required multiple surgeries. Without providing details of how she was injured, her lawyers said Kuechle suffered "serious emotional trauma" and "serious, permanent and painful personal injuries."
Kane's actions are described as "unwanted, unconsented to, violent and offensive in nature physical battery," according to court papers.
No monetary damages were specified in the lawsuit. A message left for Kuechle's lawyer wasn't immediately returned.
Kane had been cleared in March of any criminal charges after authorities investigated the Dec. 27 encounter initially described as a possible sexual assault.
His lawyer didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday but has denied any wrongdoing by his client.
According to the lawsuit, Kuechle met Kane at the Encore Restaurant and Bar on the evening of Dec. 26 and Kane bought her drinks before inviting her back to his room on what her lawyers describe as a "false pretext" of a party. The pair were taken to the Buffalo Marriott Harborcenter by Kane's driver, court papers say. Once in the room, Kane "engaged in extreme and outrageous conduct" toward Kuechle, the suit said.
Kane pleaded not guilty Monday to non-criminal harassment, disorderly conduct and trespass stemming from an unrelated incident at a bar on June 24.
In that case, Kane is accused of grabbing three women inside Bottoms Up, a Buffalo nightclub. A male bar employee said he also had a run-in with the NHL player.
Paul Cambria, Kanes lawyer, said those allegations were "extremely exaggerated" and his client "denies strenuously any wrongdoing."
The fourth player selected in the 2009 draft, Kane was acquired in a multiplayer trade with Winnipeg in February 2015. He scored 20 goals and added 15 assists in 65 games last season. He has two years remaining on his contract.

ok, here is where I definitely step way way back, and wait, as this is now escalating into something

very different than what was first described, so, don't know what to think.

one can jump to all sorts of conclusions either one way or the other, so time will tell, and if

this law suit is legit, and these things did happen to her, then so be it, he will deserve all that

he gets, but there is a big blank here, from the initial story to this one, I'm getting a wee bit

concerned about how 'money' has become the big factor now, so i'll wait and see.

There's a couple of dough heads on the forum, Talloola, it's best just to ignore- their opinions are worth nothing and their only purpose is to stir the pot. I'd like to see it made mandatory where prospective members have to score at least 5 on an I.Q. test before being granted membership! :)

yeah, I know, people who do that are just looking for attention, like little kids or puppies, that
misbehave to get someone, anyone, to notice them. it is rather sad, but when an
adult does it, any hope for recovery is pretty well gone out the window.
