You don't think the doodad would generate any power here? I do. In which case I wouldn't be losing the money.

Product first, please. How you going to get it here?

I would guess in lots of small pieces. :)

Some assembly required.

LOL

It's like the Ikea migraine....from hell. ;)

I was referring to the lose of property values to the residents.

It's all well and good to cry NIMBY, I do it too. But one needs to look at the economic impact on peoples lives.

Good point. Not everyone finds fields of the windymills that aesthetically bothersome, though. And I'd much prefer one of those in the neighborhood over some f'n monster house. Especially since it would be used more than the monster houses around here.

Noisy? lol

I live in an old cottage community, the assholes buying old homes and tearing them down to fill the lots with tashma-homes, piss me off.

But I'd rather have neither in eye sight thanks.

So this is hurricane winds they're planning on harvesting down there? Sounds like they'll just be throwing their money away, long term.

Ah. Sounds very familiar. BTW, I can't find a def. for "tashma home". Is that your term for monster home?

But I'd rather have neither in eye sight thanks.
Can't blame you.
Just occurred to me that it's still better looking than these:

Yep, it's a play on taj mahal. Which I spelled incorrectly anyways, lol.

Can't blame you.

I agree, but I still don't want 100+ turbines off my beach.

What the OP article doesnt state is that the property owner is paid royalties for the use of the land.

Wind Turbine Envy and Land Lease Pooling by Paul Gipe

Off shore wind farms aren't on someone's private property. But maybe that could be a mitigation for those farms close to shore. Wind farm pays the royalties just like they would to farmers in PEI or Alberta, the regulators put the money in trust, and that goes to residents that can show a reduction in property values. Otherwise the operator gets their money back.
