It looks to me as if Wally has never had his hands dirty doing anything. Actual work is an abstraction to people like that.

I read recently what submariners did after two month patrols. They went straight to the steam bath and watched the black sweat roll off their skin. I didn't know that trick, though. Irish Spring don't really cut it.
