I agree with one of the others comments. To knowing not take action when you find a child or animal is a vehicle is a form of negligance that should be criminal, and in many cases already is.

Also, i would imagine it is quite common for the driver to return before any authorities get there, so once again it is a good thing to be proactive enough to share your concern with the driver.

Lastly, i'll bet walmart doesn't train their employees on how to properly behave in situations like this. So, it is not reasonable for them to respondwith a firing over something somewhat trivial like being rude.

We only take our dog in the car if we are going to be gone overnight or for an extended period of time (over 8 hours).

He doesn't need to come with us to the store, even if he is allowed in said store.

But then again I'm not a Walmart shopper so my thinking may be too logical............

Wal-Mart is a good employer so I'm betting this former employee had a track record of rudeness and/or incompetence.

Wal-Mart is a scumbag organization that wipes out small business, treats trucks drivers like they are in the slave trade and swindles vendors out of money by imposing ridiculous fines.

Give your head a shake Walter.

And if you were on the road and had to pop into a store?

The idea that everyone is always going about their lives the way we go about ours is flawed.

Imperfect scenarios have to happen sometimes.

We travel with our brand new puppy every weekend. Sometimes that may mean he sits in a car for a little bit. Will we ever need to endanger his life? Hell no. Will some do gooder decide that I DID endanger his life at some point so that they can dust off and polish their righteous indignation? Probably.

You've never had to stop to quench a biological imperative (full bladder syndrome) then, huh?
(pun intended)

Anyway, I don't think the girl should have been canned.

no that won't happen to you because you won't leave him alone in a car in 40° weather knowing the temp climbs ten degrees in two minutes. It really is that simple, if it is that hot, you will find another way as these simpletons should.

You've got a Puppy! Tuck her (him?) under your arm and carry on
where ever you need to (Paris Hilton style) at this point. Years back
for the first 3 months of my Rotti's life, he traveled around with me
inside my coat (born in early December). He'd poke his head out
(Kangaroo style) on occasion but it worked out just fine.

(7 weeks old)

After that, when they hit the 100lb+ mark, the inside your coat or under
you arm thing doesn't work, but then you figure it out from that point on.

(7 months old)

Just spotted the other discussion about the puppy being 5mo old & 20lbs.
Make Mulk carry it under his arm.

I'm sure there is far more to this than an employee reporting a dog in a car.
