Garden food is good for you. Ethylene ripened food in the back of a truck is why people need vitamins.

You are quick on the draw with the angles this morning, Petros! I think I'd still take me chances with the Ethylene ripened fruit than start gobbling frigging pills.

I'd rather eat my garden veg that was fully ripened in the sunshine so that it actually have nurtional value. Go ahead take your chances. Where do you get your vitamin K from?

Swiss Chard, cabbage, lettuce.

I grow Swiss Chard every year and can pull it out of the garden until it is covered with snow.

That is fine but what about the ethylene ripened in the back of the truck veg? Does that cabbage, lettuce and chard have anywhere near the same nutritional value as you garden veg?

Are you saying that ALL store bought veggies are ripened in the back of the truck? I bet I eat far more vegetables from my garden than ripened in the back of the truck.

All no, majority yes when local is out of season. It's good to know there others around who eat properly. 10 more years and we'll rule the world JLM, but I don't want to be the one in charge of the malnutritioned zombies. Should we leave that up to the CPC?

there are all kinds of vitamins on the market, be careful what you choose. We take vitamin
pills every day, purchased from our naturopath, cost a bit more, but the quality and goodness they
contain make it worthwhile.

eg. we don't each much fish at all, just a small amount, so I purchase a very high quality omega 3
from our naturopath to fill in, (and they contain 'no' mercury at all).

in my opinion a pill is an aspirin, a prescription but I don't consider vitamins 'pills' in the same
context as medication. Vitamins are a different form of food not medication, just remember, don't buy
the cheapest ones in walmart, study them, ask questions and make a wise choice.

many people stay very healthy with their vitamin supplements, they need them because of a deficiency of
some sort.

there is a limit as to how many vitamins should be taken, number of cc s, eg. vit E should be limited, and ask questions about the rest as well, too much vit C is just
useless, goes right thru, so take the right amount, just what you need.

pills are drugs not vitamins, vitamins just look the same.

All those vitamins occur in food and I just eat the foods that contain them and get the added advantage of enjoying the taste. I can see taking vitamin D in the wintertime if you don't enjoy taking Cod liver oil.

Are you 100% positive your nutritional needs are being met?

of course all the vitamins are in the food, that is how they know what to put in a vitamin, its just
a different form of food.

no one should live on vitamins, but to scoff at all vitamins is unwise, and what is good for one may
not be what another needs.

no one really knows exactly what he or she may be lacking in their system, and if you really want to
get all of the vitamins you need, then you need to know what is in everything, and eat accordingly.
Not everyone absorbs food the same, not everyone's system works efficiently.

I would never advise to fill one's cupboard with all the vitamins, and take them all the time. Find out
what is adviseable, 'from a professional', have a good blood test to know how your own system absorbs
your vitamins, know your own body, don't just assume everything.

To turn your back on all vitamins is silly, and to pop them like smarties is silly.
