ISIS executes 19 civilians in Syria, including two children, less than a day after details of massacre of more than 50 emerges

- Executions happened after ISIS entered village in eastern Syria, claims human rights group
- The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said victims were shot and burned

ISIS has executed 19 civilians in Syria, including two children, human rights activists have claimed today.

The executions are said to have happened in the last 24 hours in a village held by anti-jihadists in eastern Syria.

The claim has been made by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which said the terror group also captured fighters participating in a US-backed operation against ISIS.

Rami Abdel Rahman, of the British based group, told AFP: 'IS fighters entered Jazrat al-Boushams village on Friday evening and executed 19 civilians, including two women and two children, with bullets to the head before torching the corpses.

'Some were rounded up in the street before being killed, and others were executed at home.'

Cleric accused of torturing 11-year-old for not memorising lesson

The parents of an 11-year-old boy accused a seminary cleric of severely torturing their son for not memorising a lesson in Vehari district of Punjab.

Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah Bukhari, a resident of Ludan, told reporters, on Tuesday, that his son Muhammad Bilal is enrolled at Faizan-e-Madina madrassa where teacher Qari Muhammad Fiaz beat him up severely.

According to Bukhari, Bilal had not memorised a lesson so Fiaz, the cleric, got angry and punched the 11-year-old in his stomach and face breaking several teeth. Fiaz then also used a steel rod to beat Bilal before shaving his head, said the father.

I'm not sure how much of that's attributable to Mo. As I pointed out, the flowering of Arab civilization was 9th to 11th century, and Mo's getting the place organized surely had something to do with that. Yes, it seems that every empire can never pick themselves up after a decline. If one was to believe in a cosmic plan, I suppose that you only get one try.

This is purely personal, but that region is less literate than other areas of the planet. I don't have stats in front of me, but they should be easy enough to find. Their local religious leaders don't have to receive any training. Just be male and believe. You see a dumbing down of the locals.
