I'm just wondering why 1/10th of 1% only showed up.

could it be that many are simply trying to stay safe /clear from either the .....um.."insurgents" or US bombs???/firepower??

or tending to their injured/maimed family members?? (maybe??)

the fact that so many did , is impressive on it's own.

OR, they have no 1 million signatures.

And I found 8 million people voting considerably more impressive, didn't you?

IF they were to now "vote" to have the US leave.......wonder how many would show up.

This whole area is known as the cradle of civilization. However, Iraq is the one that historians believe to be the true one. many thousands of years of history.

As for an apology, I owe you nothing of that sort. I never apologize to an ignorant.

You are just mad because I cut you down so quickly and so
easily. I withdraw my apology to you, since you are calling me names - an ignorant. Who's the ignorant one here? DUH!

You're not asking the important question: If the US left, would the acts of terrorism and suicide bombings across the world stop?

probably not immediately, but they just might taper off. depends on how diplomatically, tactfully the US handled it. Depends too , on how the USG continues to handle it's foreign policy ( simply put, how it treats other nations. Without obvious favoritism , with just fairness. the incentive might just subside. Depends too on how much momentum has been gained by said "terrorists" and how far they have flourished into sub groups etc.

(IMHO)

new call to count Iraqi victims.

The cold callousness of the USG to state: "we don't do body counts" is appalling. IF the USG cares so much about "freeing" the Iraqis ......why are their deaths not important.??? this is the ultimate in disrespect and malignant arrogance.

saw a well appointed interview last night (One on One).....where the discussion surrounded the mishandling of the Iraq situation, and the multitude of serious mistakes that have been made. A lot of it lies with the USG 'attitude". A softer touch, more cautious diplomacy and respect for the Iraqis is called for. (something the USG has Not done at all. ) (giving candy to Iraqi kids was just a superficial photo op and meaningless)

one has to conclude that Iraqi lives don't matter. So what matters?? US POWER In the region......as the cost of many of their lives.

a lot more "sensitivity " is called for. Something definately NOT in keeping with the USG approach.

America will leave Iraq.

The world in its hypocritical sickness understands very little.

so enlighten the world .......that is so much more "hypocritical" and ignorant than yourself.

re: America will leave Iraq?? When , and how?? and will that be in its entirety??? Or is the US "influence" via companies, contracts and military bases there to stay.?

Even IF the US left in its entirety. (highly unlikely)........the "ghost" of the US is there to stay.

From Rumsfeld down to the several American commanders, 2006 will see a 25 percent to 40 percent reduction in forces.

We are leaving.

We are going to show the myth and lie everyone believed this was permanent. It never was going to be.

does this mean that they have aborted their plans for those massive military bases in Iraq??? IF they are leaving......that means (literally) that ALL fragments of the US is leaving.

the only myth and lies in all this is what the bush cabal has been spewing.

Withdrawal of Troops from Iraq: Forget About It

http://tinyurl.com/7emwn

This is the real thrust behind the talk of “withdrawal”; not respect for Iraqi sovereignty or any other such nonsense. Rumsfeld has continued with his terror-campaign in the Sunni areas and is pushing for a quick signing of the constitution so he can proceed with his plan to split up the country. There’s nothing more to it then that. The US will never leave Iraq unless it is forced to do so.

good article mog. (thx). It fits cohesively with another I posted earlier. A new form of spin. (LIE) the population will latch on to the "withdrawl" speak.....and miss what is actually going on behind the scenes.

The Americans could have had a 'political solution' in Iraq without war. They chose war because it put 'boots on the ground'. Bush senior made it very clear why he did not continue onto Bagdad and his son proved him correct. Now they are there and they will not leave. They have their hands on the spigot and will not let go.
