I apologize to Amnisty International about prior statements. According to them the Taliban are responsible for the deaths of 2/3rds of civilians killed, and to quote " Taleban, unlike NATO troops, pursue a systematic policy of targeting civilians (see, most recently on 2 December 2009, http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/news/extra-us-troops-afghanistan-must-not-harm-afghan-civilians-20091202" In compliance with this, Allies warn Afghans of pending attack as civilians flee area around Taliban fortress town of Marja.
“This war differs from other wars, in this particular. We are not fighting armies but a hostile people, and must make old and young, rich and poor, feel the hard hand of war
To quote General William Tecumseh Sherman again: "I’ve been where you are now and I know just how you feel. It’s entirely natural that there should beat in the breast of every one of you a hope and desire that some day you can use the skill you have acquired here. Suppress it! You don’t know the horrible aspects of war. I’ve been through two wars and I know. I’ve seen cities and homes in ashes. I’ve seen thousands of men lying on the ground, their dead faces looking up at the skies. I tell you, war is hell!"
Do you even know why you were in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other place you fought in? Or were you just obeying orders? Invade Canada and see what kind of reception you get.
