On Monday, columnist Hélène Buzzetti posted in French on X, formerly Twitter, that the federal government had already made the first of four promised $25-million payments to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) — despite last Friday’s announcement from International Development Minister Ahmed Hussen that funding would be paused after evidence emerged that agency employees took part in the Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel.

Ah, what the hell, it's only 25 million dollars; we got plenty more to borrow where that came from.
Maybe it's the political ramifications that the Trudeau/Singh Coalition government is worried about?
Regardless, I think UNRWA aka (TEAM HAMASSHOLE!) got their money early.

Yeah no.

The money should not have been sent if there was proof of terrorist links.

What sucks is there's no one better to take leadership of the country so we can't just kick Justin out for this.

Well, Canada has made this very clear that this is a “temporary” pause in UNRWA funding… as opposed to other nations.

Wait & see which way the wind blows..While the Canadian government has frozen money going to UNRWA over the allegations, it is not entirely clear yet whether that freeze applies to funds in the process of rolling out or funds promised but not yet in the process of delivery.

On Tuesday, Canada announced it would be sending an additional $40 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza, but those funds were not allocated to UNRWA.

There hasn't been a good old fashioned Palestinian hi-jacking in years. Maybe it's time?
If a Palestinian hijacking takes place, and let’s say the plane is diverted to Tehran (?), Who pays the carbon offset credits? UNRWA? Israel? The country the plane was coming from or the country the plane was going to? The airline?
