Things keep getting worse for the Carters.
Darren and Carolyn Carter made international headlines after images surfaced of them posing for a kiss over the body of a dead lion they shot and killed while trophy hunting on safari in Africa.
In a heartbreaking YouTube video, Sydney Carter, 19, the daughter of Darren, addresses her father directly, condemning his actions and vowing never to call him dad again.
“So, Darren if you’re ever watching this, just know that I don’t consider you my dad anymore, you’re a horrible person,” Sydney said.
Sydney says she hasn’t seen her father in 10 years and accuses him of abandoning their family, not paying child support, and being an abusive father.
“I am disgusted to call him my dad,” she said.
“After everything he’s done, he didn’t pay child support, he didn’t even give my mom a little bit of money, but he has enough to pay for a $15,000 trip to Africa with his wife that he cheated on my mom with to go to Africa and trophy hunt.
“That just makes me sick. I refuse to call him my dad anymore. Like who does that, I’ll never understand people like that, that take pride in shooting a beautiful animal like a lion.”
Sydney also spoke about what her father was like in the past and what she remembers about him.
“I don’t recognize his voice, I don’t recognize his face, nothing,” Sydney said. “I remember the bad times, let me just tell you that, he was quite an abusive dad, he treated all of us horribly, I never recognized that until recently.”
