It's not the Iraqi's, Afghani's or the actual wars that scare the bejesus out of the Military industrial complex

"But if you are a defense contractor who has enjoyed a decade of bottomless Pentagon funding, it was Gates' comments about a struggle much closer to home that are keeping you up at night. "The spigot of defense spending that opened on 9/11 is closing,"

Robert Gates, Defence Secretary - Feb/2009

The US gov't pays private concerns if they work overseas? Unless they are doing something overseas for the US gov't, I can't see the gov't paying them a nickel. IE: does the US gov't pay Dodge to have a Dodge assembly plant in Mexico?

uh... Blackwater, Haliburton... The list is endless. Do you read newspspers or the occasional magazine

You hadn't specified who was making bucks off the US gov't. But do you think the US gov't will still pay these outfits considering it wants to pull troops out and the possibility that the US is still in an economic mess? I think Obama is more prudent than that. I think he would prefer to not spend as much overseas and pay more attention to stuff at home. It's generally a Republican thing to avoid home issues as much as possible and a Dem thing to pay more attention to domestic matters than the Reps.
