LOL! When I was growing up, decades ago the R word stood for "reject" - that is, the army rejected you when you tried to enlist. I carried the word "reject" with me for many years.

How the times have changed!!!!

My sister is a psychologist and used to work with the mentally handicapped.. they are so honest, friendly and hurts nobody.. the most innocent in society..

My friend in Alberta has 3 downsyndroom children.. that is a handful

When I was a kid in school I continually crossed numbers such as writing 89 when I meant to write 98. I had terrible math skills and low grades in the subject. Teachers did not know what learning disability was in those days and they treated me like dirt because of my repeated mistakes. Needless to say, school days back then wasn't so much fun.

It's amazing how adamant some people are that an American football team continue as a racial slur. It's a minor issue, but if you asked me if I was pro-racist names or anti-racist names, I'd vote anti-racist. But some of you are really taking issue with being racist. You go around saying you aren't racist but look at how strongly you defend racism.

If it's not racist, then why do you care?

That's my point. If you think it's racist and you're against racism then you would support changing the name. Many people think it is racist, particularly members of the race it insults. But if you don't think it's racist, then why do you care what the name of a football team is?

The only people who should care about the name are people who think it's racist.

It's not racism, it's tradition. The great old Murkan tradition of justice and equality for redskin savages.

No vocal opposition, everything that is getting pushed through by the Liberals.

Apparently they are going after the Edmonton Eskimos now.

And they should!

There are three theories for the origin of the term "Eskimos" (French: Esquimaux) to describe the Inuit.

One is "She makes the netting for snowshoes." Really, a men's footnall team being named after women who fashion snowshows! Rediculous!

A second is "People who speak a different language." I thought the Edmonton team spoke a variation of English and can be understood even by the Queen.

The third is "Eaters of raw flesh." That sounds more of an invitation to worms than the Grey Cup.

Time for a change!

Cree for meat eater but snowshoe netting sounds more Canadian.
