I guess I've been lucky. Since our form of universal health care came in, I've lived in a half dozen of the larger cities in this country and the availability of health care was never a problem. I'm sure that in smaller towns, more remote towns, some parts of health care like CAT scans, are harder to come by as well as some specialists, and this is normal I'm sure anywhere. The problems we have with Canada's health care system are going to be problems anywhere.
Americans are fooling themselves if they think our system doesn't work. Our system costs us less per capita and less as a percentage of GDP than the American system. These dolts don't know what they are talking about.

Of course the US health industry is going to attempt to belittle the Cdn model, you've got an extremely profitable industry under threat of government intervention. From hospitals to HMO's to insurers, their & their shareholders lifeblood is tied up make making profits. The Cdn model migates those opportunities to a large extent so no wonder there is an all out press against our form of healthcare. That being said they can have theirs, I'd rather have what we've got warts and all.
