U.K. snubs a Commonwealth nation Canada

Our link with the monarchy appears to carry little weight with the UK govt in a matter like this. Many in the UK and UK govt would like to be rid of the monarchy also. Cost saving measure overrule dated sentimental institutions and connections.

There are a LOT more British nationals living in the USA than there are in Canada.

As was said, no snub, just centralizing the process where it is most needed.

Canadian's can no longer get British passport's (we could into the 70's).

The Brits know power and they see it in Washington DC, not Ottawa. Just like the royal family parties in NYC, not Toronto, we're not where it's at for the UK. Britain likes the legacy of empire when it suits them, and we don't suit them right now.
