Oh sure....toss away another few billion in revenue and then make it up by taxing the citizens or borrowing it so our grandkids have to pay it off. It is just another example of corporations getting a free ride at the expense of the taxpayer.

*sigh*, you have such an excellent understanding of macro and micro economics !!!

Check how CNOOC can load up Nexen with debt and not pay a cent in Canada on taxes. And yes it is done.
I sure hope the Gov does not reject the CNOOC purchase.

Opposition irate as RCMP brings vehicle from Canada for Harper’s India trip | Canadian Politics | Canada | News | National Post

India has had a number of Jihadist terror attacks.

We have soldiers in Afghanistan.

Is the Opposition just plain stupid or dammed stupid.

NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s trip to India took an unexpected twist Monday when his security guards brought their own armoured vehicles to drive him through the streets, sparking objections from the Official Opposition back in Ottawa.

Yeah, it just seems as soon as these guys attain power they lose common sense. Just boggles the mind!

Best check how they are overbuilt by a decade on Infrastructure. - how the cities are debt ridden- How the banks are loaded with bad loans.

200 million under employed.

Riots a daily occurrence

How the Chinese are using the nationalism card which as history has shown when let loose it can become quite easily uncontrollable and has lead to the unexpected war.

Yet you have not refuted my points that trade with China would be fair-

I have to respectfully disagree.

If you were to ask me what kind of winter tires you should buy, I would tell you to buy good ones and find another place to save money.

My point? I don't expect our Prime Minister to save money with his choice of armored car.

Your post would make sense if the Indian vehicles were inferior. The only way they are inferior is that they aren't as luxurious. Does the RCMP want luxury or safety?

I don't buy that it was an RCMP decision. That sounds like such a lame crock of sh*t. I am thinking Harper wanted the luxury and nobody cared or even thought about the cost to taxpayers.

It's irrelevant whose decision it was. If the Indian vehicles would do the job and would cost significantly less, then the taxpayers have been ripped off and the opposition have (the not only the right but) the responsibility to ask questions.

The OP was obviously posted without much thought.

Its all relative, when the Liberals were in power the Tories, even under Harper
would go after anything and everything they could and now the shoe is on the
other foot someone else is pounding on them. Now in most cases I would say
the vehicles in the host country are good enough India and Pakistan well not so
sure.
It is a case of the chickens coming home to roost.

Maybe the RCMP had information/suspicions about the local security and wanted to play it safe. If the vehicle blew up we'd all be talking asking why they didn't take more precautions.

It isn't about the local security. It is about the vehicles. They very likely could have provided adequate vehicles without shipping them from Canada. Seriously, let's not pretend the Indians can't make an armoured car when they clearly can.

Maybe there was some intelligence concerns. Perhaps great armoured cars but a lack of trust with all the hands on it until the PM gets in. It could be a lot of things that we'd never know.

Are you seriously suggesting that the country of India can't provide world leaders with armoured vehicles...really?
