The rest of the candidates have already been shown to be liars. How do you butt in on a public forum? If you want a private conversation use the PM function, doh.

LACONIA, N.H. — There are many, many things Donald Trump would like you to know about how he would run the country. As he told a standing-room-only crowd here the other night, turning America around would be a lot like running the Trump National Doral golf club in Miami, which he bought when it was in bankruptcy in 2012.
He is really smart. “I’m really smart,” he boasted in Phoenix last weekend before rattling off his résumé highlights. “Went to the Wharton School of Finance. Even then, a long time ago, like the hardest, or one of the hardest, schools to get into.”
People like him, clamor for him, must see him. Describing for an audience in Las Vegas how demand to see him at a recent event was so high, he said the venue managers had panicked and called, “begging us not to be there.”

First off, Donald Trump has already lied more than any other candidate, so I'm not sure that's a defensible character trait.

The worst liars are those that profess to be the 'average guy'.

No one in that position of power is average to begin with, so their very existence is a lie.

You want to pick a candidate whose policies are actually good for society and has a positive attitude.

I think you're blaming the wrong side of the election question. It is the voters who lie to themselves that result in election of liars. Even if the candidates told nothing but the truth the electorate would lie to themselves and vote anyway. Otherwise they would have to admit to elections as being completely out of their hands.

If Trump wins the Republican side, you will see another Democrat presidential win.

Yeah. someone who will convince you that they are qualified for the pedestal. Yep. Need more of those so we can continue the show.

Hillary Clinton got kicked off the Watergate inquiry for lying under oath .
I am sure she is just an average liar .

The point is it doesn't matter.

You are not necessarily a better candidate for having a history as a politician or the other way around.

The fact that people would vote for someone just because they were not previously a politician is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

As I try to think of the type of person that I would support as a leader you could trust , one person readily comes to mind and it is based upon the biographical movie I watched about him. But it was a movie. So for what it's worth, the type of person I would support would be the late ex heavyweight boxing champion of the world James J Braddock.

The Cinderella Man. :).

I watched that movie about 10 years ago- he came a long way in his life. Don't recall many details now.

This election will be yet another reminder of the futility of voting for, and hoping for, any meaningful change. Just like a mind-numbing drug, the american democracy exists to feign sympathy for the masses and provide nothing of real substance. Canada is no better.

I disagree vehemently.

In the last 20 years we have seen a marked improvement in policy in all democratic states.

This includes places that have been governed on both the left and right.

The standard of living has improved right across the board.

OK, there is, at last, enough of your freely given testimony to commit you to some rest vacility having bars on the windows and rubber walls. No more TV for you.

The decline of the lower and middle class in USA and Canada is quite obvious with wage stagnation and exploding debt, the future is grim. However, I do think the third world is experiencing something of an improvement with the influx of all our manufacturing jobs. That will be short lived as the demand for the products disappears with the disposable income of the developed world.
