The government intervening in my freedom to speak?

Why this is positively unconscionable!

Donald Trump demands ESPN apologize for Jemele Hill's tweets

President Donald Trump is calling on ESPN to apologize days after one of the sports network's anchors called him a "white supremacist" and "bigot."

ESPN said Thursday it had accepted the apology of its "SportsCenter" host Jemele Hill for her tweets about Trump on Monday. Hill said Thursday she was sorry for causing her employer trouble.

ESPN has repeatedly said Hill's comments don't reflect the view of the network. But that apparently hasn't satisfied Trump. He demanded on Twitter early Friday that ESPN "Apologize for untruth!"

The president also took a shot at falling ESPN subscriber numbers, writing: "ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics [and bad programming]. People are dumping it in RECORD numbers."

Hmm.. So why do thy Trumptards, like petros, Angstrom, Walter and Durry believe they should have the freedom to be racist under the guise of free speech?

Everyone has the right to be racist, you don't need to hide it under the guise of free speech.

But part of the whole free speech deal is that you can speak without fear of retribution from the state.

Since Trump is the state now, he's violating that edict by threatening others just because they say something he doesn't like.

Because individual character growth towards high morality is achieved on a personal level. You can't legislate high standards of character like socialism will have you believe.

Its not a fun feeling is it? Well then that proves exactly the point Trump is so obviously trying to make with this episode

At least some of you are now admitting you're racists and bigots.....online anyways.

I haven't met one person on earth who isn't so, admitting is the first step.

Are you still in denial?

Having "the right" doesn't necessarily mean "being right". I think it's dead wrong to discriminate based solely on race, however it's perfectly correct to discriminate based on behaviour. Perhaps some races do require close watching, but you do it with your mouth shut until bad behaviour is evident. :)
