Trump's refusal to sanction MbS for murdering Khashoggi
I see the fingerprints of Jared Kushner and John Bolton all over this. It reminds me of the amoral pragmatism of Henry Kissinger's Operation Condor which installed Murder Incorp. tin horn tyrants in South and Central America in the 70s with their accompanying death squads. All rationalized as in the greater interest of people but really in American corporate interests and to contain 'socialism' (which was really only Social Democracy). All these despotic generals subsequently imposed Milton Friedman/ University of Chicago free market, laissez-faire, privatization and monetarist policies on their economies with the attendant austeristy and loss of all economic integrity and social disruption. It's behind all of the uprooting of populations and vast migrations north to assault the U.S. border.
In the Middle East the U.S. is propping up another petty tyrant in MbS, with a superficial platform of reform and control of Islamic extremism. The U.S.'s ultimate goal is to isolate and contain Iran which Israel views as an existential threat. It's an amazingly short sighted policy. One only has to look at the roots of rule of the Shia Mullahs in Iran to see they stem directly from the CIA coup overthrowing a democratic moderate in Mosaddegh and imposition of the an autocratic Shah subservient to American dictates. It exploded into the Iran revolution 25 years later.
Trump is surrounding himself with some real lightweights as key advisors. Steve Bannon was a huge plus in keeping Trump focussed on the critical issue of Economic Nationalism. Unfortunately Trump does not do well with strong, visionary personalities, which he deems a threat to his own legacy. He's left, with a weak inner circle, with the likes of Jared Kushner, John Bolton. Kushner is globalist, zionist, twit whose agenda is at complete cross purposes to Trump's political philosophy. He's a complete disaster. Trump is getting derailed and distracted from the core issues that elected him. He's flirting with being a one term President if he doesn't refocus on that which got him there.
