You canNOT say this is not like the Gestapo.

Even ATTEMPTING to say this is nothing like it, shows a total LACK of knowing history what so ever.

Dudes shelves definitely have Beau’s beat!

So Rumeysa Ozturk, she’s pro-Palestine & definitely not pro-Hamas, etc…right? Not involved with Hamas in funding or whatever? Totally innocent with respect to Hamas being a recognized terrorist organization in America? Just pro-Palestine so this is a travesty of Justice & no other factors involved here, right?

Is she a US citizen or on a visa of some kind? Is she in the US as a right or a privilege? I ask because as of a few minutes ago, I’ve never heard of her.

I’ll invest 5 minutes into a Google.

Is this true? Accurate? No idea, just the first result that popped up.

The student, Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish citizen, had a valid student visa as a doctoral student at Tufts, according to a statement from her lawyer, Mahsa Khanbabai. Ms. Ozturk, who is Muslim, was heading out to break her Ramadan fast with friends Tuesday night when she was detained by agents from the Department of Homeland Security near her apartment in Somerville, Mass., Ms. Khanbabai said.

A statement attributed to a senior spokesman for Homeland Security claimed on Wednesday that Ms. Ozturk had “engaged in activities in support of” Hamas considered “grounds for visa issuance to be terminated.”

Are they lying? I’ve no idea.
"DHS + ICE investigations found Ozturk engaged in activities in support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization that relishes the killing of Americans," McLaughlin posted. "A visa is a privilege not a right. Glorifying and supporting terrorists who kill Americans is grounds for visa issuance to be terminated. This is commonsense security."

Is this accurate? Justifiable? No idea.
U.S. immigration authorities have detained and revoked the visa of a Turkish doctoral student at Tufts University near Boston who had voiced support for Palestinians in Israel's war in Gaza.

Is this more accurate than the other stories? I’ve no idea.
Ozturk is a Turkish national and had a valid F-1 visa to study in the U.S., according to her attorney, Mahsa Khanbabai. A senior Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said a federal investigation found Ozturk "engaged in activities in support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization," but did not provide any evidence to support that claim.

Is this story less accurate than the previous one? I’ve no idea.

For the rest of the world, the challenge is thus not only about maneuvering between China and the United States. Now everybody has to figure out how to deal with Washington abandoning its role as policeman of the liberal order, getting high on something and wandering around with a loaded weapon and a crazy look in its eye.
Linky-dinky.

Bingo. Yup the same way Putin is mugging Ukraine and China mugging E Asia and South America and wants to mug Taiwan.
Taiwan runs a large trade surplus with the United States, which surged 83% last year, with the island's exports to the U.S. hitting a record $111.4 billion, driven by demand for high-tech products such as semiconductors, a sector Taiwan dominates…& Taiwan doesn’t buy as much in return from America of items it doesn’t necessarily need from America.

Trump administration officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, have said that much of the reciprocal U.S. tariff focus will be on 15 countries that have the highest trade surpluses with the United States.

Bessent has referred to the countries as the "Dirty 15" but has not named them.

According to U.S. Census Bureau data, Taiwan is one of the 15. The "dirty 15" could (?) include China, Mexico, Vietnam, Ireland, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Canada, India, Thailand, Italy, Switzerland and Malaysia, said a team of analysts at Raymond James in a note on Friday…for clarification.
So instead of like the homeless guy begging with his tin cup, you’re saying the country is frustrated and armed and has gone to the next step, which is just mugging other countries? Good times…

If South America can do it, then why not America too?

Not that I've gone to the US since 2011, and have no plans to go, but this is still just stupid.

And with the kidnapping/disappearing going on... anyone going to the US (beyond absolute necessity) is just asking for trouble.
