What the actual eff?!? - First all the flying around at photo ops and reading to kids, then the election style funding announcements for lgtb etc, and now a freaking CABINET SHUFFLE?!? - it hasn't even been a year since this cabinet was sworn in!

I don't know if he's planning for an election this fall but he sure as hell wants someone to think he is if he isn't.

We'll see what the actual shuffle is and how 'electiony' it looks but as crazy as it sounds this boy sure looks like he's angling for a late fall early spring election.

No surprise. He will want to call an election before the Conservatives have a chance to get organized under PP.
We need to have fixed election dates that politicians cannot move at will. Also a penalty for any politician that quits part way through their term to run for some other position.

I just don't see that going well for him. The public punished him last time and he had much more reason than he would now - it's only been a year since his last election and he's got a deal that guarantees his power for the remainder of the term. He'd have to have one damn good reason. On top of it he's not polling well at all right now, and unless that changes he'll be going into this election far less popular than he did the last one, and he almost got his clock cleaned then.

We do have fixed election dates. They just don't mean much in a minority gov't. Our structure doesn't allow for iron clad fixed dates like the us. But under normal conditions we do have them. And you can't punish people for quitting as leader.

BC has a fixed election date. Worked well until the dippers got power and decided to ignore it.

Well that's always the problem isn't it - laws for fixed elections are great till someone decides they don't like it and changes the law. If its' not cooked into the constitution there's not a lot of point really.

It's an old political trick. Doing bad in the polls? Shuffle cabinet and pretend you are a new government.

‘Cue the “Benny Hill” theme song!!’ For 8 seconds & Stop (like musical chairs).

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweaked his cabinet Wednesday, swapping his procurement minister for his Ontario economic development minister. That is all.
