Of course he would! He's a drama teacher and a showman.
This is an area that used to be funded largely and generously by the tobacco companies. When the government shut the tobacco companies down they lost a whopping lot of funding in sports, A & E, Health care, charities and more. Government couldn't make up the shortfall and that's when they started running serious deficits.
Canadian Arts and Entertainment have never been very popular. We have good symphony orchestras but in other musical genres, acting, movie making, etc. we are strictly amateurs. Artists who make it in Canada are few and far between; most go south of the border to achieve fame.
It seems irresponsible to me to spend a lot on A&E when there are things like Health care, Education, the Judiciary, Ithe military, and infrastructure that are vital.

I never understood the logic of that when it came to certain sports. Players used to sponsor the Atlantic Formula Racing Series. I don't even know if that series still exists in Canada once it lost it's primary sponsor.
But this is what got me, tobacco companies could no longer sponsor racing events however breweries and distilleries can. Personally I find it odd that alcohol producers can sponsor events where people are behind the wheels of some rather powerful cars and trucks but tobacco companies can't.

Perhaps a series on how to act Canadian for our new friends that are on the way. How to register your AK47 should be near the top of the list. How to not freeze to death running a close second.

While he's at it, put some history back on the History Channel

That's a 'Merican thang. Awful shame it is.

I guess people have forgot about all the money the Conservatives spent on the arts. Is it only a problem when Liberals do it?

Good way to reveal your true self.

Sarcasm is necessary tool in our society. You know, to deal with tools.

It's not the govts place to spend tax revenue on arts or sports. Especially not when we are underfunded for essential services like healthcare and education and need new infrastructure. How much less would the deficit be if they stopped all funding for non-essential programs?

Stop being so silly. It's the governments job to spend tax dollars where people want their tax dollars spent.

To start with many of the people in Hollywood and other areas of movie making came out
of Canada over the years. The other reason big films and TV Series come to Canada is
we have a trained workforce. In addition look at the number of top notch people who filled
the role of multi genre talent.
Besides funding this area is good for the economy money pours in daily by production
companies and through tourism.
I think it is money well spent for the return on the dollar over all.

In the United States there are similar programs the return on the investment
goes primarily into local economies and governments on both sides of the
boarder make little or nothing the beauty of it is local merchants and trades
make real money and that eventually does come back to government

Bear supporting your ramblings only brings his status down to your level rather than elevating you to what used to be his level. You are a constant good example of what a fuktard is, a prime example even.
