.. Then why bother having a Parliament at all... Home offices, that's the ticket
Yes, there is no longer a need for the HoC.

We can all be together online today. It's not like the snail-mail days of yore.

Our illustrious PM disagrees with you both. He stated that it was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ring in the New Year together". Obviously, he didn't feel that his fellow Canadians were worth his time.
Hehehe...Only a fool would believe a Prime Minister or President doesn't work on a vacation. These are more for the family than they are for the leader.
The urge to work has nothing to do with it. You work when there is work to do. That's the difference between the older generation and the younger generation.
No.
I expected a challenging rebuttal but I see I was expecting far too much.

OTTAWA - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the 2016-2017 New Year’s Eve was “150 years in the making and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ring in the New Year together.”
But Trudeau was not in the country he leads at it marked the beginning of it’s 150th anniversary year.
He and his family were out of the country on holiday, his office said, at an undisclosed location.
During his first New Year's Eve as prime minister, Trudeau took his family to the Caribbean island of Nevis and St. Kitts. While that trip was not publicized, journalists on the island quickly recognized the Canadian PM and published stories and photos.
Trudeau holidays in another country as Canada begins celebrating 'once-in-a-life

Of course he stayed out of the public spotlight on New Years. Look at the reception he received at the Grey Cup last year.
Like was stated earlier, he wanted to be there but when it comes down to it even the Prime Minister knows that his popularity poll is faked to make it seem that we like him when we boo him.
Nobody under the age of fifty remembers Trudeau Sr. , nor do they remember 50% tax brackets or 15% interest rates .One thing you should understand - I like your post - But if you don't want to get barred, you gotta be careful, I know I "push the envelope" at times but if I did happen to get barred it wouldn't be the end of the world and besides, I don't believe in pulling punches - if their skin is too thin........................TOUGH!
It just totally baffles me how such a large percentage of our populace can be so gullible on election day. We had his old man's arrogance drilled into us for 16 years! Makes one wonder!

Yup $21,000.00 to service a $100,000.00 mortgage .The Trudeau voters of today have never lived through that and believe they deserve affordable housing in Vancouver , Our benevolent government here in B.C. is going to give them 5 year interest free loans towards their first mortgage . With raising rates those free loans might not turn out so free . Reality always has a way off rearing its ugly head .Well, you make a good point there for sure, but by the same token I was born after the Great Depression but from hearing my parents talk about it for years I did feel that I lived it!
Umm 21% mortgage rates- Oct. 1983!
