Governments around the world, including Canada’s, sold us on the idea the magic beans of carbon taxes would save our planet from climate change, while we made trillions of dollars doing it.
Except it hasn’t worked out that way.
Three years ago in Paris, on Dec. 12, 2015, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the leaders of 195 other countries signed the United Nations’ Paris climate accord, hailed at the time in the Guardian as, “The world’s greatest diplomatic success.”
Contrast that with the widespread protests over the weekend in the worst rioting central Paris has seen in 50 years — 133 injured, 412 arrested — fueled by fury over high gasoline prices and the rising cost of living caused in part by French President Emmanuel Macron’s carbon taxes.
(Yes- the little detail LIE-berals neglected to warn us about was that carbon crap and trade scams would drive up the price of EVERYTHING while leaving wages frozen! Carbon crap and trade scam is a calculated ATTACK on the standard of living of ordinary people! Carbon crap makes it harder for ordinary people to get the necessities of life while civil service union Hogs are showered in new gravy!!!!!)
Three years ago, on Nov. 22, 2015, Alberta NDP Premier Rachel Notley proudly unveiled her “Climate Leadership Plan”, surrounded by enthusiastic oil industry executives, their joint message that Alberta, in accepting carbon taxes, would now have the “social licence” to build pipelines to get its landlocked oil resources to Canada’s ports.
(And of course we know how that grand plan DIED! It will take the destruction of federal LIE-beral party to clear the way and get ANY oil exported from Alberta in pipelines!!!!!!!!!!!!)
On Sunday, Notley, with no pipelines in sight, costing Alberta’s (and Canada’s) economy $80 million a day in discounted oil sales, ordered an 8.7% cut in oil production.
This in hopes it will slightly boost Alberta’s oil prices as it slowly sells off a record 35 million barrels now sitting in storage.
In France, authorities claim the Paris riots were carried out by a radical core of violent left-wing and right-wing extremists, battling police officers and overturning cars, while setting them on fire, in sight of the legendary city’s famous landmarks.
(Yes- just as Our idiot Boy and his loser LIE-berals blame opposition to their policies on “systemic racists” and “Islamophobes”- meaning political Bogey men - whose only real crime is exposing the failure of LIE-beral policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
What they left out is that the vast majority of the protesters were peaceful, part of a growing grass roots movement across France known as the “yellow vests” because of their distinctive clothing.
(And isnt it ODD that Macron can claim enemies of both the extreme left and extreme right- how is it these UNLIKELY ALLIES can find common cause- against SELFISH GRAVY GRABBING LIE-beral HOGS??????????)
As the Reuters news agency said of the French protests this weekend: “France’s Macron learns the hard way: green taxes carry political risks.”
Polls show while the vast majority of the French public abhorred the violence, they also agreed with the aims of the protesters and oppose Macron’s carbon tax hikes.
(Cdns would be no more happy with violent protests and cars torched on the streets! But Wynne-bag LIE-berals were mauled by Ontari-owe voters who displayed their fury at LIE-beral green price gouging that ONLY BENEFITS LIE-berals and their FRIENDSs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
They believe France’s political elites are forcing ordinary people to bear the financial burden of fighting climate change, while they jet set around the world warning of its dangers, with no visible change in their lifestyles,

(LIE-berals DO NOT want to discuss the two related facts- that airplanes are the dirtiest way to move either people or cargo and that it is mostly civil servants and their well paid allies in govt that are most often on those airplanes! Simply cutting back on the solid gold pensions being offered to Hogs would reduce the number of airplane flights AND clear the air! It is environmentally MORE SOUND to drive an SUV to Florida - or take a train - than to fly there- but it isnt convenient for Hogs so LIE-berals IGNORE these elementary solutions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Recall when former federal Liberal party leader Stephane Dion promised Canadians in the 2008 federal election that his “green shift” carbon tax meant, “Canada will cut megatons of emissions, but it will also make megatons of money.”
He lost, the Harper Conservatives won a minority government and today, Trudeau and Environment Minister Catherine McKenna are promising Canadians much the same thing as Dion did.
Trudeau now says 90% of his carbon tax imposed on provinces (four so far) that don’t have their own carbon price compliant with federal standards, will be returned to the public in rebates, leaving most people better off.
(We have not actually SEEN any rebates yet! And we KNOW that LIE-beral fiddling will influence the true value of “rebates”! Such as LIE-berals using Carbon crap money to “insulate” -by which they mean REPAIR affordable housing that they have been NEGLECTING for decades!)
(Our infrastructure is ALL rotting away from neglect because LIE-berals give out grand pay raises to Hogs while neglecting maintenance and now the bills are coming due as buildings rot and roads flood and bridges decay! And LIE-berals cannot BORROW any more money to prop up their house of fiscal cards -hence the need for NEW GRAVY with environment as EXCUSE for the tax grab!!!!!!!!!)

It sounds too good to be true, especially coming from Trudeau, who said in the 2015 election Canada would have three years of “modest deficits” under his leadership, followed by a $1 billion surplus in 2019-20, as opposed to the $19.1 billion deficit he’s now predicting for 2019-20 after three years of immodest deficits.
(Trudope promises in 2015 were so far off the mark he must be taken for a deliberate LIAR! He promised 3 years of roughly $10 billion dollar deficits and then a $1 billion dollar surplus and instead we are looking at $100 billion dollars in new debt with NO END in sight to the red ink!)
(Whoever takes over govt after Trudope is thrown out of office will have a MAMMOTH JOB weaning all those LIE-beral sponsored special interest groups off govt gravy! Cutting gravy to special interest groups is harder than taking heroin away from an addict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
So far in Alberta there’s been restrained protests against Trudeau’s failed energy policies, amid growing anger over the fact Alberta’s oil is being sold at a huge discount because the province can’t get its oil to market.
That’s not due to carbon taxes, but to the lack of pipelines, for which the previous Harper government and the current Trudeau government share responsibility.
(Our idiot Boy talks a lot about peace in the world so WHY is he refusing to sell Cdn oil to that world? There are a lot of people who would rather buy oil from friendly Cdns than buy oil from hostile Iran or Russia since both countries are using oil sales to buy weapons to use to threaten their neighbours! With the added bonus that Cdn oil is produced under tighter environmental laws!!!!!!!!!)
But what is relevant is that, contrary to Notley’s and Trudeau’s assurances to Albertans in the past, the province’s carbon tax didn’t even give them the “social licence” to build pipelines through B.C. and Quebec, let alone to ship its oil around the world.
