That's what I thought. They should not get a cut from the refunds though, since they didn't do what they contracted to.
I have read full refund but they could say their cut was for processing the donation in the first place.

It's an interesting idea to try to get money from complete strangers. I myself would never do it. Why should I give away my hard earned money for anything? When I do give it away its for a charity (and a tax deduction).

Outright theft. That money is held in trust. Hopefully this will be the end of gofundme.

I have on a few occasions. Two that were set up for families of coworkers that died. One was for another person in the area.

By the time we got into Tulsa town
We had eighty-five trucks in all
But they's a roadblock up on the cloverleaf
And them bears was wall to wall
Yeah, them smokies was thick as bugs on a bumper
They even had a bear in the air
I said "Calling all trucks, this here's the Duck
And we about to go huntin' bear"

Ottawa police begin increased enforcement, choking off protesters' fuel supplies, issuing 450 tickets

"Enforcement is underway," the Ottawa Police Service tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

It represents a significant change in the police response to the chaotic situation in Ottawa — where demonstrators have become entrenched in the city's downtown core, setting up structures and securing supplies of food and gas.

Amid increasing resident anger, police said on Saturday that they lack the resources to end the protest, which began about eight days ago.

Politicians have also increasingly denounced the protest over COVID-19 public health restrictions, with Ontario Premier Doug Ford and others calling it an "occupation" and the head of the Ottawa Police Services Board referring to it as an "insurrection."

They got Al Capone on tax evasion, didn't they?

Give these truckers violations for impeding the safe passage of Emergency Vehicles...etc. With that on their record, they might not be able to cross the U.S. border and continue their livelihood. Then maybe they'll think twice about dispersing.
