Yeah, the 'rally' at the border was STUPID here (NB/NS).

There was an MVA and it took an hour and a half for a tow truck to get to the scene. No one hurt, thankfully, but...

Not that it mattered. "Freedumb!" And no these idiots on parade did NOT stand up for "All" Canadian rights or freedoms. Certainly not mine.

But...

Here's what occurred to me after seeing the posts about the 'trucker's on parade' today.

Say Government - both provincial and fed - stop doing things with Covid. Just said "Okay, will of the people, they want us to stop, so we will."

Do these people realize what that means?

A) No Government help at all to anyone (it's limited now, that'd stop for all)

B) No vaccinations for free; you pay out of pocket for them.

C) No vaccinations required; the big issue for most everyone. So no more vaccinations. And when people start getting sick, sicker, or dying? Well, who is to blame?

D) International travel isn't stopped anymore. So people are 'free to travel' as is being desired. And now person X from Y country brings in a variant even worse than what we have now.

E) Back to vaccinations; no one gets them. But wait, immune compromised people or others at risk now can't go out or do anything, or chance exposure to Covid and suffering or dying from it... what about their "rights and freedoms"?

So ask yourself, what is the REAL issue here?

IMO, the real issue is people hate being told what they have to do regardless of the 'good' it is for (I look at it as they never grew up past the age of, say, 9 or 10 mentally, socially, empathically). The real issue is that they don't trust the governments THEY elected, or their 'fellow citizens' elected. The real issue is that they have trusted so easily and followed so blindly (sheeple?) the conspiracy surrounding the vaccinations that even if you give them proof of their error, they don't care.

The real issue is we're all sick and tired of this thing having control of our lives in a way nothing else ever has, without understanding that the very same people who are all about "Freedom!" are part of the reason this keeps BEING an issue.

Covid for the issue of supply? Nah, that was starting a while ago.

BTW Truckers and trucker supporters, 1) The US is implementing required vaccinations too; so will Canadian truckers protest at the US border? 2) Why aren't you protesting big companies? They're more involved in all this than even the Government.

Lots of other things that aren't being protested/brought up; easier to blame the Government.

GO, TRUCKERS, GO. The truckers have become the hero's of Canada today. They are trying to save Canada from globalist fascism. Unlike the many pro covid poor gullible sheeple out there whom just want to keep this covid farce and hoax going. Get vaccinated and keep wearing a mask. Such stupidity indeed.

Those are the gullible fools that are trying to turn Canada into a Marxist like country. No more rights and freedoms. Just slavery. We patriots cannot reason with those Karen's out there. This covid medical tyranny madness has made many of them to have become crazy with madness in the head. :D

They should bypass Ottawa as that will only give snivel servants more time off . Clog all Toronto arteries and that will get attention .

I believe by the time the truckers get to fascist Ottawa, the parliament building will be shut down and Trudeau by then will be gone to some warm tropical island somewhere. This fascist Trudeau is too cowardly to face the truck drivers. Typically of a tyrant and a bully. Stand up to those tyrant and bullies and they run away like the cowards that they are. Anyways GO,TRUCKERS, GO. Save Canada from those fascists bunch of buffoon politicians in fascist Ottawa. (y)

Been advertised by the word of mouth here that fuel delivery will be stopped in conjunction of the convoy reaching Ottawa and for as long as they stay there in protest

A few hundred pickups with tidy tanks will cure that problem. The Federal government put a hold on the GoFundMe money by declaring truckers a terrorist organization.

Don’t get me wrong and I love driving my girlfriends SUV with traction control and all wheel drive and antilock brakes and so on and so forth. It’s a dream but it’s not what you want to use to learn how to deal with a rear wheel drive on ice…

This one’s cute, from the party that pretends to represent the downtrodden & middle class:

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh today condemned a convoy of truckers and others travelling to Ottawa to protest a federal rule requiring that all cross-border drivers be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Singh said SOME of the people behind the demonstration are pushing "false information" through "inflammatory, divisive and hateful comments."

GoFundMe records show Singh's brother-in-law, Jodhveer Singh Dhaliwal, donated $13,000 to the group behind the demonstration — dubbed the "freedom convoy" by participants.

In a statement sent to CBC News, Singh said he doesn't support a campaign that harbours "extremist and dangerous views" and "unequivocally" disapproves of his brother-in-law's decision to donate.

This coming from the guy who says he drives a Prius or rides his bicycle or uses public transportation to save the environment….but never mentions what colour his current BMW Sports Coupe is, or which Rolex (either of which cost more than double what I’ve paid for any single vehicle that I’ve owned) he prefers, etc…?

An NDP source, speaking on background, said Dhaliwal didn't fully comprehend what the money would be used for? Seriously?

Then Trudeau responded today by saying the vast majority of Canadians disagree with the convoy's message? Really? He pointed out that Canadian truckers have a vaccination rate of approximately 90 per cent. How about that?

"The small fringe minority of people (and exactly whom Trudeau is referring to is anyones guess) who are on their way to Ottawa, or who are holding unacceptable views that they're expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other?,” Trudeau told a news conference today.

Singh condemned Conservative politicians for backing people opposed to public health measures.

"While not surprising, it is disturbing that Conservative MPs are supporting this convoy," he said.

Is that not surprising because most of them actually went to Public Schools and can empathize with these people?

Candice Bergen, deputy leader of the Conservative Party, said Trudeau's attempt to boost vaccination rates through new mandates has "dealt our already crumbling supply chain another blow." She said the policy will exacerbate an existing trucker shortage and "drive inflation higher than it's been in over 30 years."

"Now more than ever, our economy needs to be reopened, and we need every sector working in order to recover from the pandemic. I support peaceful demonstrations against these mandates, and our truckers from Portage-Lisgar and from across Canada," Bergen said, referring to the riding she represents.

Conservative finance critic Pierre Poilievre and Garnett Genuis, a Conservative MP from Alberta, have called the federal policy a "vaccine vendetta."

In an interview with CBC News, Poilievre accused Trudeau and Singh of "insulting" truckers taking part in the convoy.

"You don't have to agree with the everything that every trucker says, but you can, for God's sakes ... thank the truckers for keeping us alive and acknowledge their legitimate frustration," he said.

The LINK above, by the way, is from the Far Right Wing Fringe of the media called the CBC.

Various business groups — including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Retail Council of Canada and the Canadian Manufacturing Coalition — have expressed concerns about the trucker mandate.

In a statement Wednesday, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) urged the federal government to drop its mandate "before supply shortages and price increases drive even more businesses to the brink."

Experts agree that while the new mandate is likely to disrupt the flow of goods, the recent pandemic wave driven by the Omicron variant, COVID-19 restrictions in China and a global shortage of shipping containers are also to blame for ongoing supply issues in the food and retail sectors, etc….

By the way, Canada dropping hits cross-border vaccine mandate isn’t going to help Canadian truckers directly, but it will allow American truckers in bringing goods…. Which will help the Canadian economy…& if American truckers convince their government to do the same it will help Canadian truckers. How about that??
