Snowed last night with more on the way... Cold(er) temps been lingering around keeping the snow-pack high in the mountains and foothills... When the temps do warm up and IF there is a little rain in it, there's a bunch of communities along the rivers that will be seeing a deluge

We had our deluge in early March. Not much snow pack around here, anymore and no mountains. My mother's old photo album has pictures of winters with snow up over the cars on the Niagara Penninsula but it is a rare year now if it ever snows at all.

Lived in Winterpeg for a couple of years and folks out there I knew showed me similar pics... Of particular interest were those photos where one family exited out of the upstairs bedroom window and dug from the top down to clear a path from the front door to the street.... At it's highest point, the snow tunnel looked to be 5 or 6 feet high

The one upside to our having a fair amount of snow on the ground is that the cold snaps we had probably did not result in the ground getting a deep frost... If this is the case, it won't take nearly as long to thaw and the melt can be absorbed into the soil faster rather than it running overland and loading-up the river basins as fast adding to the flooding problems.

Wait and see is all we can do at this point

In the old days, everyone in Winnipeg owned a canoe.

I wonder if "that" truck driver was an illegal, cops are being pretty tight lipped about who and other details.
