Fearful of Trump's America, asylum seekers from across the globe stream into Canada
They are part of a surge of asylum seekers from Haiti, Sudan, Turkey, Eritrea and beyond who have been streaming into Canada in recent months, hoping for refuge they believe will be denied them in the United States.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police intercepted nearly 3,000 of the asylum seekers at this one illicit crossing in July, nearly four times the number apprehended in June. In the first two weeks of August, 3,700 more were taken into custody.
“We’ve never seen such numbers coming in,” Claude Castonguay, a spokesman for the force, told reporters. “They’re unprecedented.”

I welcome these non-White refugees. They will only contribute to balancing the currently severe imbalanced demographics of this country. This is especially true with the French speaking Black Haitians that are going to Quebec. If there’s one place that’s desperately in need of some more racial diversity its racist Quebec.

OTTAWA -- The number of people seeking asylum in Canada is now the highest it's been since 2009, driven in part by a surge in asylum seekers showing up at the Canada-U.S. border.
New statistics released Tuesday by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada show that as of August, 27,440 claims for of asylum have been filed in Canada, a peak since record highs of between 36,000 and 33,000 in 2008 and 2009.
And the numbers are expected to continue to rise.
