You should have shot them.

Yeah, just not the Canadian thing to do. I was in the bush one summer workign and ran into an American tourist who was worried about the bears. I told him that if the bear is pissed off or hungry there's not much you can do. "But Grizzlies can't climb trees right?" "Well, most of them can't. Some can." When he realized that I was in bear country all day he asked why on earth I didn't have a rifle. And I thought about that for a while and couldn't really give him a good answer.

None. Crapped my pants when I accidentally got between a black bear mom and her cub though. Just kept briskly walking adn luckily the bear either didn't see me or didn't see me as a threat.

Northern Ontario,
yes but he cleans up well :D
When you're planning a day in the bush, two things are a must....(among other things) is fly dope and toilet paper...
I was lucky once that I was near a river while out prospecting when the "need" came. It was either use my shorts to clean up, or walk feet wide apart into the river to wash up.....I choose the river cold as it was...
Never forgot putting toilet paper in my knap sac afterwards......

As an aside, odd thing about that.

A recent study into fatal black bear attacks in North America showed over 90% of them were done by MALE black bears............to the surprise of the researchers.

Which indicates that sow with cubs are more apt to false charge, or break off any attack the second the threat is eliminated........

Oh, as an aside to my aside.....:)

:The "Shroud of Trayvon" cracks me up every time I read it......

Former Dem U.N. Ambassador On MSNBC: “Trayvon Is A Martyr”…

Emmett Till was a martyr, Trayvon Martin was a thug who jumped the wrong guy.

Via Mediaite:
In anticipation of President Barack Obama’s address on the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movement’s march on Washington D.C., MSNBC guest host Joy-Ann Reid asked her guest on Tuesday about problems in the black community including the killing of Trayvon Martin. Reid was interrupted when her guest insisted that Martin was this generation’s “martyr” to the cause of civil rights.

Reid’s guest, former United Nations Ambassador under President Jimmy Carter, Andrew Young, interrupted her when she asked about what kind of problem Martin’s killing represents for the black community.

“No,” Young said. “Trayvon is a martyr.”
