Hi,

Whilst in London a few weeks ago, I saw a documentary covering the resuts of the Cuban Revolution called Hasta Siempre. The screening was a complete sell-out and after seeing the film I understand why. These guys have some amazing access to Cubans, including a chap so desperate to leave the country that he had the statue of liberty tattoed on his torso. But they balance the doc with some die heart Revolutionaries, as a filmmaker myself, I highly recommend this documentary.

They also touch upon 'Life after Fidel' and many people will be surprised with the views of these Cubans on what will take place after the death of 'El Commandante'

They interview a diverse range of charecters from all walks of Cuban life. You come away feeling that you know what it's like to be Cuban in the year 2005. This is easily the best doc I've ever seen on Cuba, it really blows everything else I've seen out of the water!

Below is a Link to trailers from the film:

Yep, soz, my mistake.

The doc really make me think of how we view Cuba in the West. It should be seen by all interested in International politics. These guys deserve to get their doc widely viewed.

They also have another doc on thier website which I have ordered but not seen yet, it looks at the violence between blacks in the UK.

I like the Cuban people...

For the oppression they have experienced, the people are extremely bright, concentrate on still fulfilling whatever dreams they can salvage our of their meager existence and they bring up wonderfully educated children (their future).

A lesser people would have become sheep under that dictatorship ... not them. They don't waste a minute planning for a better life and nation. I have no doubt they will eventually get what they are dreaming for too.

The Cubans who have made it to the U.S. shores are contributors in so many ways to the culture of the nation....and boy are they activists when they want something done!

Talk Politics ... nice rebuttal. If you can back that up, do so in intelligent debate.

A little social hint for you? Insulting posters ain't the best way to arrive at a new forum. ;)

Considering that Americans are comprised of the entire world, I would say its you that's dreaming.

What I mean is that America is a very young nation. They are new and therefor have very little culture. In fact, any culture they do have comes from the foreigners. However, they have, in a way, culturaly colanized the world through multi-national corporations, you cant go anywhere without seeing a McDonalds.

Respectfuly.
